We can all relax. Even now I can hear a Racing "Journalist" telling us "I'm sure it's all a big misunderstanding, We all know he's a lovely lad and certainly wouldn't be involved in any impropriety".
That's all cleared up then. |

Has Frank finally decided to press charges?
|
|
By:
Has to be a non-racing related incident, can't see the police getting involved in racefixing or anything again, though they are investigating Godolphin but that's only because an illegal substance to the UK was use

SORRY 3RD TIME
PA Tuesday 15th March 2011 A JOCKEY from East Yorkshire has been banned from driving for four years after pleading guilty to drink-driving when he was found asleep in his car by police. A hearing at Bridlington Magistrates’ Court marked the third time Graham Gibbons, 29, had been convicted of drink-driving. The father-of-two, from Wetwang near Driffield, was said to have appeared drunk when he was spotted walking towards his car outside a local pub on February 27. The police were alerted when he was seen attempting to start the vehicle and officers later found him asleep inside the car outside his home. He was found to be nearly three times the legal alcohol limit, with 98 microgrammes of alcohol registered. Police also discovered that Gibbon’s insurance had expired. In mitigation, the court was told Gibbons had “struggled with drink” and it was an issue he was trying to resolve with help from his wife |

Or he attacked a steward or other course offical.

He has been charged with avoiding Betfair's Premium Commission.
Wolverhampton Stewards all seen throwing IPads into a council skip shortly afterwards. |

Even three times by 29 is pretty shocking. Must be tricky not being (legally) able to drive in that profession.

3rd time caught drink driving should equal 5 years minimum

Twice is bad, three times is just wrong and has no right to ever drive again

couldn't the Yorkshire police have waited until he had driven home

Would have thought he earns enough to pay for a full time driver, like GG though good solid jockey imo.

If true very sad for both him and his family ....His wife trying to help him says a lot , He must be a good husband and father to his children , otherwise she'd have left him..Lets wish Graham all the best as he struggles with this terrible disease ...Let him who is without sin cast the first stone...

Yep guess he's an alcoholic needs help not vilifying on a crap forum

WALOFS ^
Fair enough help him with the drink but as soon as he gets behind the wheel after having a drink any sympathy goes straight out the window imo. Give him 5 years in Wantworth to help him with his disease, better that than him knock down or crash into some innocent by stander |

Handcuffs are a bit harsh for a driving whilst disqualified offence isn`t it?

He should get all the help he needs with his illness, but tend to agree with the above - he cannot be allowed to keep getting behind the wheel.

Alcoholism is not a 'disease'. It's an addiction. Similar to that suffered by gamblers who spend all their time and money on horse racing.

ive mixed feelings about this really ... lets first of all think if this guy had hit one of our kids and injured or worse then im sure our feelings would be towards the he deserves 10 years and thats not enough .after all how many chances does he get ,hes playing russian roulette with peoples lives just useing a car instead of a gun .Or alternativly well he hasnt actually hurt anyone yet so handcuffs are a little harsh . Perhaps the humiliation of this episode might be the trigger to him actually realiseing he needs help ... this disease or addiction needs to run its course till its at the stage he cant get any lower ,,, then and only then will he acknowledge his probs and seek and accept help /// the question is does anyone want to help him and does he want help ... perhaps his employers should accept resposibility and say if y wish to ride for us y need to seek help ... but thats no guarantee
