IT only hurts you if the horse is fancied . ie ten pence in pound deduction and above if the horse gets with drawn in the mornining early enough to form a new mkt your ok . check cos different bookies have different rules. you bet with one of the worst

Thx crackerpants That's interesting as I never new bookies had different rules - I would have expected an industry standard.

don't understand the post..if there is a rule 4 there is always a reduction factor on an exchange ?
and the tatts rule 4 heavily favours the punter [ e.g. 6/1 being only 10p ..and nothing for 16/1 chances even when there are two of them ] |

You have to know every bookie's rule 4's. Most don't enforce 5p rule 4's but some do.
Victor definitely does enforce the 5p. I'm pretty sure all of the other main firms don't online. However they have different rules in shops where they do apply 5p rule 4's. With the exception of Paddy Power who don't enforce either the 5p OR 10p if you bet in shops! It's even more vitally important to have this information at your fingertips if you're a trader to adjust things if you get a late withdrawal. |

Adge, I think the OP placed his lay after the non runner & was caught out by victor enforcing the 5p rule whereas the rest of the village don't online.

By:
yes , stoozbet , but betfair DO enforce a similar deduction also.
that's why the OP got caught out by the before and after scenario and why the exchange lay price was lower |

Yup. If his lay was in before hand & got matched then he would have actually profited more than before.
