put it this way most jockeys in the top 50 would win on 95% of Hughes' rides, it's all about getting on the best horses.

The  best  jockeys get the best rides. ask Lester P, Ruby Walsh, etc.

When Hughsie first burst on the scene many years ago he was a one dimensional jockey in the Jamie Spencer
mode and drove me mad. 5 useless rides out the back in a slow run race and then one winning one off a strong
pace which everyone would wa&^ over.

However, these last few years he has truly become the complete Jockey. He is the master of understanding pace and track bias.
He also exudes confidence into his mounts which I have only ever seen before when Fallon was at his peak. I think he is in a different class to his current contemparies.

If jocks were handicapped he would have to give 3-5lb to every jock in europe.

Only Buick come anywhere close.

Ryan Moore & William Buick both far better than Hughes. He's just lucky he rides for his father in laws winner factory!
