C4's video montage review of the season before spoke volumes. Think there was 3 races shown that happened before the Festival, 1 of which was in Ireland

Cheltenham is the climax of the season,Aintree follows. Every Saturday from the beginning of November the programme supplies races that steadily build towards this.I'd like the odd good race to be run midweek as used to be the case.Apart from that I've no complaints.

If any brain dead twaat suggests a gap during the early part of May I'll shoot the phuucker!
The ground is perfect at this time of year for jumping. The ludicrous bringing forward of the end of the season to April is a non profitmaking marketing ploy. If they want to go out with a high class bang that isn't the Horse & Hound Cup at Stratford, then they can move the Sandown finale to the end of May, getting out of the way of the Classic trial flat meeting and, more importantly, avoiding a clash with Punchestown. |

I'd like to see a return to the old close season. I know it will never happen though.
