i dont think anyone thats neutral would diasgree that the reversal is a wholly awful decision.betfair should freeze the funds of the bet and let this go to some people in authority who can readjudicate and come to a sane decision . and if the higher power say it should be reversed ill accept that but we all know that it wont be the case so freeze the funds betfair
|
|
By:
no good slating betfair..they pay on official result..stewards are the ones who changed the result
|
|
By:
some people in authority
that was the stewards if the 2nds connections appeal and win it still won't help, they will pay on the weighed in result |
|
By:
why not blame betfair, they settled all bets, they should honour it
|
|
By:
i know it wont help .But u know what it should help . when the stewards have plainly got it wrong it should go to abbitration and the bets should be froze
|
|
By:
"This market will initially be settled on a First Past the Post basis. However we will re-settle all bets should the official result at the time of the "weigh-in" announcement differ from any initial settlement."

they settle the bets provisionally so accounts arnt tied up...everyone knows the rules

is there a man alive bar the moronic stewards that think they made the right decision ? i remember backing a horse called jardines lookout many moons ago and for me he did very little wrong and had the race taken off him . This horse the same , and there was also a horse i backed on the all weather this winter that got leaned on from midtrack and went down a head on the rail and that wasnt reversed in a flat race where marginal differences count for soo much more . well all i can say is that its been a complete rip off and those that made the decision can go to bed knowing theyre complete reprehensible egyts !

those stewards are incompetent at best. bent most probably
Ah, the light. |
|
By:
can understand your frustration, but sadly you have to move on, there won't be any changes no matter what happens from now on
obv there are going to be some seriously happy backers of the 2nd who in some cases might not even know they have won, the next time they log in they are in for a decent surprise |

If it is any solace .... I am STILL waiting for my £1100 WINNINGS from MR CONFUSION in the 1992 John Smith's Magnet Cup at York. Mr Confusion DID get the race RE-AWARDED to him the following Friday - at a Jockey Club appeal. I did NOT get my £1100, though - and worse still ...Ladblokes have STILL hot my £100 STAKE, too! ![]() |
|
By:
a disgraceful decision , cost me £100 , which is small beans compared with above , but come on , see worse than that on the flat 7 days a week , not even a mention of a stewards

one last thing before i depart for mr hunt . if muhhammed ali boxes the pants off george foreman for 15 rounds and then people of ill mind, corrupt ,or compliant award the fight to george foreman . should that be the result ? really should it ? or should people of senior authority review the matter and come up with a just and fair decision ? in your world george foreman wins the fight .for the majority this is clearly a case of wrong doing or gross incompetence which requires an ammendment . the race wont be ammended until a later date , upon which the original winner will be awarded the race and those that backed the horse that finished second will keep their winnings ! this is completely wrong and if you go on saying thats how it is. well your an idiot because things can change, and can it doesnt necessarily need to be the way it is. its not right , its a fault that needs amending and the betting industry should be taking such instances on board and looking to amend procedures !

Not watched the race as horse racing bores me to death probably due to the fact that anyone who can break even cannot get a bet on.However if the Stewards have knocked out the winner it must have been a no-brainer as day after day horses keep races in this Country that would have been given the Spanish Archer everywhere else bar Eire. Why do you think that "double result" is the norm with the alleged "Bookmakers" as BIG MAC (is he dead yet) says THEY KNOW....
|

By:
ive lost 200 x more on a single . i only had a piddly bet on im just f ing cheesed to death as its a complete rip and it should be looked at as whats gone on is not right

everybody reading the thread are all saying to themselves allright getover it and i have, but what happens next time when you may have a big bet on and they do it again ? all im getting at is the procedure is wrong and needs looking at . /ie if connections of the horse that won the race differ soo vastly to the stewards and dont accept there viewpointy then bets on the race should be frozen .let the bha/jocvkey club review it and give a verdict that everyone has to accept rather than three or four numptees word being gospel

Part-time stewarding of our professional racing is very amateurish i agree, but are you suggesting no bets are ever paid out until any appeals are heard and the 'supreme' stewards give their verdict?! Don't think that'll ever happen. You've got to take it on the chin and hope you get one going your way in the future.

Not sure who you are gpz6316 but you must be a newbie betting on UK Horseracing. The fact there is an amended result is as rare as a trainer getting caught for doping horses..

i concur with what your saying mostly as connections could launch objections reguarly and that obviously wouldnt be viable . what about an ombusman whom could sift through the trash and award owners a say 5 challenges (tennis)type theme .Put forward such cases where upon in fact theres a case to answer .getting ripped off and then being told to live with it isnt a statement that any anybody from horseracing or any other walk of life people should have to put up with and nor should it .in my my eyes send it to an ombudsman whom decides quickly over wether or not there is a case to answer. unfreeze bets if there isnt a case to answer , and wait for a judgement if there is . there you go a punter friendly abbitration code

Quite honestly I would prefer first past the post for ALL on-the-day results and bets.
If at a subsequent enquiry a jockey is found to have deliberately hampered a rival I would punish him severely (with a ban in months, not weeks) as a strong deterrent. Plenty of riding 'offences' are ridculous considering the jockeys are steering 1/2 a ton of tired horse at the end of a race. |
