Joke coverage, same on the BBC though, they wanted to show anything but horse racing, CH4 exactly the same, the BEEB'S last year @ Royal Ascot was pathetic.

They're all chasing people who don't like racing, instead of people who do like horse racing. That's the madness of it all.

Agree with elisjohns 1st post. Bad enough with bloody tv adds every 10mins (at most) but to have them 5mins before the off of any race is a joke & terrible planning imo.

i love royal ascot week, didnt even mind the ladies fashion especially when eve pollard did it always took a week off work and watched it on the beeb, not half as good in the last few years but i accepted it, but i can honestly say that this year ill listen to it on radio5 live, and just hope that thommo isnt on, there is no way ill be watching on c4

Bring back Peter O'Sullevan, Julian Wilson & John Hanmer. C4 manage to make Aintree look like Uttoxeter. Then you have the dumbed down spin-offs like Alan Carr's rubbish to appeal to the lay person. Why are we sold such cheap, populist tv these days? Horse racing was so much better covered back in the 80s & early 90s when it was a more exclusive sport. Des Lynam interviewing Jenny Pitman etc. And what happened to the replay of the race & speaking to the jockeys about the ride they just experienced?

Terrible coverage.Just been on a lesbian sports website and even they were turned off....

The aerial shots were diabolical & totally pointless. You want to see close up the field taking on The Chair. What we got instead were 40 tiny specs that appeared like ants from that overhead angle. Pathetic & not what viewers want.

Rubbish coverage to many gimmicky cutaways, Fitzgerald is rubbish as is Thomas ..bring back Highclear!..this lot have no idea
I will be watching RUK in future, William Hill have a gem in Kate Miller , one to watch.. all in all a total disaster a great occasion ruined
