Why is it so bloody hard even when you are ahead. How many banks have you lost purely out of petulance at losing...pathetic i know but i can't shake it off. Cry

i've lost loads of banks that way, thats what separates the winners from the losers.

It is a natural feeling, none of us like losing...we all look for a get out,
but of course we are chasing so our judgement goes...guilty as well of courseBlush

It used to finish me , you started with that loser then the next bet was bigger , before long pulse is racing and the vibrating all or nothing punt was leaving the stalls

and it usually lost , but what a buzz , lot of truth in the adage that losing is addictive

we all been there , some more than others

hard game but lowering your risk for a smaller gain works for me , just chipping away with a long term vision

I have daily targets then if I reach them I stop, record how much (win or lose) which helps

Folks,

Relatively wee punter stuff from me but if I crack a decent one it gets withdrawn into a completely seperate bank account from my normal betting funds. It lies there until a decent holiday etc beckons. Don't recycle it into betting as you won't see it again. Enjoy your winnings and come back to fight another day without going skint.

it can't be done,

soon as i lose i just chase no matter how much i was ahead.

If you are good and know ALL your horses inside/out, you fire back in the next race, no problem.

ninja22,

It can be done.  Have a break, have a kitkat, go for something to eat and maybe a pint with your friends. Cool down and relax.  Above all, take it easy and enjoy your winnings and accept your losses.

And Roger,

If you are good and know All your horses inside/out......you won't ever be losing.

These threads are a self fulfilling prophesy as everyones doing the same thing, there is no staking or breaks etc it's all about form and prices you're not going to win if you're backing at the wrong prices and similarly if you don't have an understanding of every runner you study and the form behind it.In general most punters probably don't have enough to bet with anyway and thats another reason why its virtually impossible to win as in picking winners anyway. And why would you put in 12 hour days when you can only turn over a days bets,a lot of work for probable small returns and to win highly unlikely.

the truth is.

95 percent of punters dont even know the sex of a horse they are backing, never mind fcuking value.
