He struggled to stay 3m when he won the Irish hennesy last yr.
If he wins tomorrow I'll bare my arse at Aintree next year.
He'd be about the first horse I'd rule out.

He's a horse I've always had a soft spot for, and has a touch of class, but he's got his fair share of weight and can belt the odd one...such liberties won't go unpunished over this course, and I can't see him coming up trumps.

He'd need to be a three figure price to tempt me and I think there's far better value elsewhere. You might laugh but I actually had a few quid on him for the Gold Cup!

Of the 'shorter' ones, Soll was 85 on Wednesday night but I wasn't tempted as if my money was down, he'd not have made the line-up! He put in a superb round of jumping at Sandown and he might really take to these Aintree fences.
He's still 55 now.

I think Quel Esprit is well handicapped. He's a far classier horse than most of the ones a few pounds below him. I do think there's a major stamina doubt, and also a major jumping doubt. But I concede that he kind of jumps like a national horse, and his run of non-completes were a while ago now.
I'm warming to him a little and might have him green for about 50p.
