what a horse i have followed racing from the early sixties and sprinter sacre is the best i have seen since arkle a true giant i could see him winning the gold cup everything seems so easy for him trained by a master of his trade i am sure they will do right by him also on a great day for national hunt racing tremendous performances also from at fishers cross dynaste and my tent or yours what a shame all the publicity has to turn to the death of little josh

the odd full stop wouldn't go a miss.

Amiss.

Your criticism would be smack less of "glass houses" without your erroneous space in amissWink

I bet I started before you Slickster!

The Monster doesn't do 'full stops' H!

I never saw Arkle or Flyingbolt in the flesh but he is the best I've seen. There have been many good horses since the early 1960's of course but none with this sort of panache, apart from maybe Istabraq.

Lol. The unbeatable one's rating gotta be 194 195 making him 4 or 5lbs above Kauto. And he's only 7!!!

golden cygnet was the best hurdler i ever saw he was a machine

Sprinter Sacre is far from being the best jumper I´ve ever seen but by christ does he have some engine!
Report pauli April 5, 2013 7:19 PM BST
Cue Card is a class act and Sprinter Sacre just toyed with him - it was a quite staggering performance.  The best thing about it is there is so much more to come.
Report BornToWin April 5, 2013 9:45 PM BST
The cleverest jumper I have seen anyway.

Not always a spectacular leap but he sure knows how to fiddle his way to the other side in economical fashion. Then the engine.... just ridiculous.

SS is the jumps equivalent of Frankel, makes everything look effortless
Report Ibrahima Sonko April 5, 2013 9:51 PM BST
totally agree, its like the horse knows exactly what to do.

Long, short, stride, close, far, crowded, winning jump, safe jump.

beautiful to watch, im sure Barry has something to do with it.
Report BornToWin April 5, 2013 11:06 PM BST
Yeah that's what I meant Ibra Happy

To say he fiddles his way over doesn't do him justice. He cleverly takes them whichever way they come.

Some might think his cockiness might lead to a fall one day, but ever since his 2nd run over fences I have thought this fella ain't ever gonna fall. The game is just too easy for him.

Simply stunning to watch again today. There was a few seconds when I thought he didn't seem to be going as well as Cue Card, then I realised BG still hadn't moved a muscle.

He lost a shoe during the race too.
Report Howdi April 5, 2013 11:37 PM BST
he lost a shoe feck me ....could we be watching the greatest here?
Report Dr Gonzo April 6, 2013 10:45 AM BST
he lost a shoe

Yep, doesn't look like the journos managed to spot it though...

Just watched all his chase races on the sporting life site, he pecked once.
Report brigust1 April 6, 2013 12:22 PM BST
I suppose that is SS's problem. The lack of oppostion will prevent him from being rated higher.

Arkle beat Mill House (rated 191) in a canter in the Gold Cup. Mill House won the Gold Cup, King George, Henessy (beating Arkle giving him 5lbs), Whitbread and many other top races and Arkle absolutely toyed with him. When Arkle met Mill House in their first Gold Cup meeting Arkle and where Arkle won by an easy 5 lengths he had won 11 of his 12 previous races and his only defeat was in the Henessey by Mill House. Cue Card, on the other hand and by comparison, won the Haldon Gold Cup and the Ryanair. Therein lies the problem.

Was Cue Cards performance yesterday a career best?.....certainly looked it to me.....and got slaughtered
Report brigust1 April 6, 2013 12:34 PM BST
Could have been. It is difficult to assess the rest who accepted defeat some way out. I'm not even sure Cue Card's jockey was hard on him either. If my memory serves.
Report MJK April 6, 2013 12:42 PM BST
Lets just enjoy the horse while we can! Pure class, very rare you get a horse/jockey combo who are the best at what they do.
