what a horse i have followed racing from the early sixties and sprinter sacre is the best i have seen since arkle a true giant i could see him winning the gold cup everything seems so easy for him trained by a master of his trade i am sure they will do right by him also on a great day for national hunt racing tremendous performances also from at fishers cross dynaste and my tent or yours what a shame all the publicity has to turn to the death of little josh
I never saw Arkle or Flyingbolt in the flesh but he is the best I've seen. There have been many good horses since the early 1960's of course but none with this sort of panache, apart from maybe Istabraq.

Cue Card is a class act and Sprinter Sacre just toyed with him - it was a quite staggering performance. The best thing about it is there is so much more to come.

Not always a spectacular leap but he sure knows how to fiddle his way to the other side in economical fashion. Then the engine.... just ridiculous.
The cleverest jumper I have seen anyway. Not always a spectacular leap but he sure knows how to fiddle his way to the other side in economical fashion. Then the engine.... just ridiculous.
beautiful to watch, im sure Barry has something to do with it.
totally agree, its like the horse knows exactly what to do.Long, short, stride, close, far, crowded, winning jump, safe jump.beautiful to watch, im sure Barry has something to do with it.
To say he fiddles his way over doesn't do him justice. He cleverly takes them whichever way they come.
Some might think his cockiness might lead to a fall one day, but ever since his 2nd run over fences I have thought this fella ain't ever gonna fall. The game is just too easy for him.

Simply stunning to watch again today. There was a few seconds when I thought he didn't seem to be going as well as Cue Card, then I realised BG still hadn't moved a muscle.
He lost a shoe during the race too.

I suppose that is SS's problem. The lack of oppostion will prevent him from being rated higher.
Arkle beat Mill House (rated 191) in a canter in the Gold Cup. Mill House won the Gold Cup, King George, Henessy (beating Arkle giving him 5lbs), Whitbread and many other top races and Arkle absolutely toyed with him. When Arkle met Mill House in their first Gold Cup meeting Arkle and where Arkle won by an easy 5 lengths he had won 11 of his 12 previous races and his only defeat was in the Henessey by Mill House. Cue Card, on the other hand and by comparison, won the Haldon Gold Cup and the Ryanair. Therein lies the problem.

Could have been. It is difficult to assess the rest who accepted defeat some way out. I'm not even sure Cue Card's jockey was hard on him either. If my memory serves.
