Betting on horse racing is not like betting on roulette, you can't reduce the odds against you at roulette.
You can reduce the odds against you at horse racing through study and knowledge, but that doesn't mean you can win. It just means that some punters can make their money last longer. And those who can win at horse racing take good care to keep what they know to themselves. |

not strictly true if u know the speed the ball is going n the speed the wheel is going u can win at roulette
|
|

slim ITS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SPEED OF ANYTHING OR THE SIZE OF THE BALL ,ITS ALL TO DO WITH MATHAMATICS ..THE MAN FROM HARVARD SAID .THE VERY CLEVER PEOPLE DONT GAMBLE BECAUSE YOU CANT WIN ,WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME STEVEN HAWKINGS HAD A BET
|
|
By:
STEVEN HAWKINS ONCE SAID TO THE MAN FROM HARVARD WHEN THEY WERE WORKING OUT THE MASS OF BLACK HOLES ,
STEPHEN SAID IF I THOUGHT THERE WAS A WAY TO WIN AT GAMBLING DO YOU THINK ID BE SAT HERE WITH YOU TRYING TO WORK OUT THE MASS OF BLACK HOLES |
|
By:
AND THE MAN FROM HARVARD SAID YES IF I COULD WIN AT GAMBLING I WOULDNT BE SAT HERE EITHER ID BE IN LOST VEGAS SAT WITH A 48"BUST SHORT SKIRTED HOOKER
TO WHICH STEPHEN COUGHED OUT HIS ORANGE JUICE |
|
By:
STEVEN ALSO SAID TO THE MAN FROM HARVARD ITS LAS VEGAS NOT LOST VEGAS ,TO WHICH THE MAN FROM HARVARD SAID IM BRILLIANT AT MATHS BUT IM A DUNCE WITH GEOGRAPHY
|

Pity he didn't teach you how to spell.

everyones brain has an algorithm, not much difference between a gambler and scientist, both are studying data
and maybe if your lucky enough, you can make discoverys of your own, and vastly improve your own knowledge. |

Then surely if you know which is the fastest horse in the race, you can win at horse racing? Let me know how you get on. |

For most horse racing punters such as myself
our selections at timesare little more than a guess....so taking into account bookmakers over rounds and betfair commission, we are probably betting to a worse percentage than roulette, so in that sense you are right DO WAH DIDDY But that is not the whole story. I would think premium charge players on here win their money on sports betting not Betfair roulette. And some punters on here, a minority, with some skill, experience and hard work do turn a modest profit. I do not think either of these things would happen if they were playing roulette. I would think Steven Hawkins and other top scientists earn considerably more at what they are doing than they ever would from sports betting. Also winning is not just about intelligence, it is also about being a good gambler, this requires both nerve and control. Gambling is by its very nature a gamble, the uncertainty would not suit everyone, we are only ever as good as our last winner. Still if you can win more playing roulette than sports betting ...dont let me change you DO WAH DIDDY... I enjoy your posts ![]() becuase winning is hard. |

Horse racing is so much more interesting than roulette.
I would think studying black holes is even more interesting... oh that I had their brain although they are probably thinking, how can I find my next winner ![]() |

By:
Studying black holes can be interesting, but studying string theory is much more entertaining!
I hope this clarifies the matter! |

silly string?

Serotonin is related to the moclulation of mood and impulse control as any O Level biology student would know and has nothink to do with spellink!
I hope this clarifies the matter! |

That is not serotonin but cotinine. It is present in ciggie smoke. Either that or it is your postcode Mr Mover!

ghee u is smart do you have a pmt like yon hazard don?

The news that DWD has been chatting with Harvard-educated mathematicians will send a shiver down every bookmaker or casino owner's spine. Heaven only knows what carnage they are in for.
We, the humble punters, would do well to pay heed to the Great Man's insights. A mouth-watering proposition indeed. |

I would think studying black holes is even more interesting... You would think so, but it isn't. And science is not at all well paid, even if you're at the top of your field. |

hawkins makes millions from walk ons....

He is the exception though. And if he didn't have his electronic voice and chair he would just be another top physicist who the vast majority wouldn't reconize.

Mr Pickens- although I am highly edumacated and have many degrees and diplomas, I do not suffer from pmt.
I hope this clarifies the matter! |

Cheesey Hawkins also seems to benefit from some unwritten fatwa that goes something along the lines of 'You can't disagree with anything he says, simply BECAUSE he's Cheesey Hawkins'.
|

including his diagnosis, if he has motor neurons i am the king of siam

Something that is only known to us scientific intelligentlemensia is that Mr Hawkins was a popular music star!
His voice is featured here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTFCwKvlKZo (Before anyone asks, it is not the lead voice!) |

i don't have the time to read this thread all the way through so apologies if this has already been raised but of course you won't be able to win if the book is 105% over-round but the markets on here are not, they are generally a little over 5% once you add in the commission
maybe you explained things wrongly to him |
|
By:
Happy, perhaps you could get your alter-ego (AllBlack) to read the whole thread?
Then you and yourself could have a meeting to discuss it when you both have the time. ![]() |
