Presumably he could replace a few of the donkeys they have in their squad... Mind you they were a bit better this evening!

I don't have the figures for C4H but his tipping record on RUK and CH4 for races I watch is awful this season. There have been very few occasion he has tipped something that made me worry about my own tip and it is even rarer that one of his tips beats one of mine. He is a drudge and his phraseology is grating to say the least.

Watchit brought out the side of GC on here that is now apparently being confirmed by the posts now in the majority. Can dish it out and whine when tackled but now considers himself a cut above coming on the forum to defend his corner.

Richters one or two have but not many i admit though i dont think he deserves to be treated like enemy no 1 as some people seem to think he is on here. GT i think people are trying to get a reaction as he has een known to come on here and defend his corner before though thats unlikely to happen now he's on C4.

fife he probably is all the things you say he is....i dont know but what people have their backs up about imo is the constant trail of losing selections and the failed premium tip line........

At least with the tipping line he stopped and refunded subs unlike another ex channel 4 presenter who fleeces the public and would not refund a bean. I do agree GC does come across a bit long winded though i dont think its arrogance.

Is it ignorance then fife? I have no agenda with GC and good luck to him if he manages to get a career out of being similar to Julian Wilson for being straight out of Burtons window (or is it George)with his inability to formulate a sensible and incisive preview of a race and then dissect where HE went wrong post race.

I subscribe to ATR (free) & RUK, and 95% of the time have made my own opinion of a race. Pundits views are fine; I ignore 'em invariably. But call GC what you like, there are several others, I would rather mute first.

last saturday was abysmal for cunningham on both the ML and the live show, absolutely nothing he said came true and then he after timed excuses for all his picks
I remember so because I posted on here about it

I agree with the way Mellish bets,I presume he meant serious punts.Said it before on here that each to their own if it works is fine as long as betting for "fun" or temptation is kept to a minimum.I bet every day there is racing in the UK,never stuck to a keyboard and rarely personally placing bets, every day is profit.
The few large bets that go on are usually struck on course,50% in person.I suspect that Mellish follows a similar pattern of when to strike.
If yifter is a punter as well as a pundit imo he needs the CH4 Gig as well as all the add on bits he can get?

You have put up a fantastic thread up on The Chelt' forum, by your race thoughts.
Would you feel comfortable, expressing your thoughts regularly on a day to day basis?

Judo wants/needs the insider info from the John Wade yard to be a success.............so do I........judo my bet was beaten on the line yesterday............on the fooking line and not a penny on the winner.

It was ok judo,no damage and an ok return. It just proves that it can be a double edged sword to put eggs in a basket for a stable rather than an individual horse.I didnt personally but molerats "mole" wasnt too far wrong imo.
Time to keep a close eye on the stable at the lesser meetings, better ground, should be a few nice winners and hopefully the rat will give a nudge in the right direction.
Btw you heard it here first,James Revelly will not be a regular at the yard.
Might never enter again.

I post my thoughts which often take a long time and a lot of work and cogitation to arrive at and some prick comes along 30 seconds after I post the message and rips it apart without giving it a moments consideration and that really gets on my tits
Like the guy who posted "you are a clueless mug" 30 seconds after I posted that Sprinter Sacre would win by over 4 lengths, with Cue Card in second place and that SS should be 1/3 before the Arkle and we know what happened then. I was not fecking guessing
I have done a massive amount of work on the national and have come to some strong conclusions, there are a load of horses trading at 30 and less that have no chance but I'm not posting the work because it will just attract vitriole and all that, not worth it as I learnt last year with SHB

I want to state here as a first...............I have never seen judos tits............before Graham Cunningham,Steve Palmer,Derek Thompson,Martyn Laz,Bruce or Tom Seapigeon................or Paul Haigh get in here with false accusations.

Hth ewe bitches.

fawwon I don't know how a full timer survives the costs of living and costs of doing nothing but looking for bets, only having a few bets a year.
They wouldn't do it if they had decent jobs. Based on ROI of 2-5% which would be the best one could hope for and taking into account travelling/entrance/subsistence expenses turnover, would need to be 2M a year to beat a decent salary. You can't get that sort of money down on-line, in the bookies or at the track. Anybody saying they do is talking bull. This is why Mellish, Cunningham, Nevison, Willoughby, McGrath are pundits.

I think Cunningham gets a lot of unfair stick on here, yes he might be pretty poor on the tipping front, but arent most tv pundits horrendous tipsters anyway?, and yes he could talk a hind leg off a donkey, but I think he's a genuine down to earth guy, at least he would come on here and interact with the forumites unlike many who think their sh!te doesn't stink, way above interacting with those low life pocket talking riff raff off the betfair forum.
But after all the stick he's been recieving since been recruited by CH4 I'm not sure Graham could be bothered anymore?.

exactly, silvergreaser...why on earth would anyone pop their head above the parapet on here when all they get is dog's abuse....what do people want him to come on say anyway? 'sorry, lads, my tipping was sh!te again today and i apologise that some of you find me boring?'...by the time he's got back from Newbury to the NW i'm sure he'd have better things to do than come on here

LOL at silvergreaser think you are forgetting the rather important point that up untill his tipping line failed and whenever he was on ruk ,he liked to be descibed as a pro punter, you cant compare him with plunket, francome, grahem etc
all though yifter likes to think of himself as a racing fan, into the history and romance of it etc ,he,d turn to any system that turned him a profit, he,s failed at
fast pics pinching pen nys of mugs laying horses back to lay horses
tipping lines and we now can safely add tv punditry to his list of failures, yifter often use to talk about enjoying a social day at the races with his mates down the pub, he should stick to that and return to being a journo

SilverG - your post of 09:55 is spot on in my view and whilst I'm not a fan of ANYONE on TV concerning tipping (think about it...their TV appearances are their income) there are far better targets with bull's-eyes on their backs!
Maybe I haven't listened to him enough but Cunningham has never struck me as having difficulty stringing a sentence together as some have suggested - I like his style with his pre-race analysis even though it's invariably wrong...I'm sure I'm not alone in salivating at the prospect of how a big race might be run, and it's NOT embarrassing to be way out, as that one 25/1 winner makes up for the previous 10 that go awry.

"He goes to Liverpool rather than Aintree" "later·ly" instead of "lat·ter·ly"
A couple of classics yesterday. He tries hard and is obviously enthusiastic about racing. Maybe he should spend less time on the form book and talk about how the race is framed and any inside information he may have.

SA - I'm sure you realise what I meant though maybe I should've used the word 'enthusiasm'...there's nothing worse than some presenting fcuker just going through the motions, having very little appetite for the game.
At least you can see he means & feels what he says, and I can't understand why he gets so much (personal) stick on here, when there are numerous others eminently qualified to be in the cross-hairs of the metaphorical sniper's rifle!

Tend to agree with Navel Gazer. Cunningham does make mistakes, but at least he shows a bit of enthusiasm. He clearly does do some research, which is a vast improvement on some of the jokers we see whose idea of analysis is reading out the Spotlight verdict from the RP.

It's hard to please everyone when doing a presenter's job as if a tipster's LIFE depended on giving a winner, that selection (like the Scoop 6 pot) would nearly always be on one of the first three in the betting - I'd be the same.
However, gambling is about value for me and finding something that COULD run far better than its price indicates...at decent odds one can back a few horses in a race.
I backed loads of 100+ horses (on Betfair) in the AP market for the Arc, and I tried to argue a case for them with ifs, buts & maybes - alas, Solemia wasn't one of them, but it just proves my point that outsiders do actually win, yet I was accused of being a guesser with a scatter-gun approach!

An after-timer on here tried to argue a case for Solemia...I can't even see one NOW! She had no chance of the frame in my opinion yet these things happen.
FWIW, I was really keen on Reliable Man (had him for huge money as I backed him regularly at up to 400 on here) in the hope it might turn up heavy on the day - I was utterly bewildered why he went to Canada a week later on ground that was forecast as firm!
I thought ADRD was shrewd...that astonished me, as it was a senseless preference, and with the benefit of hindsight, seeing a quality colt in Orfevre throw it away, I don't know how some could've been so readily dismissive about Reliable Man's chances with everything in his favour - I was gutted he didn't turn up

Just in case anyone has any doubt about his ability to analyse form, he's currently employed by Coral TV to give tips to the people in their betting shops.
That people can want to defend someone who will posture to be on the side of punters one day and then send off his invoices to Coral the next, shows only that turkeys really will vote for Christmas, imo...
