wanted to place a double today on horse running today and same horse for ante-post race. cant place bet - i understand that ante post price will be effected if it wins today but why cant you back before the race ?

some bookies will offer you a "special double" for the horse to win today's race and a nominated other race (usually big profile/ble ribbond event).
You've answered you're own question really shelly as they are "related".
My advice would be to ask the bookmaker if they will lay you a price the "double" - usual sh*te will ensue of phoning head office, delays, huffin and puffin from the staff in the shop..... gl though.
