Almost as bad as Fallon on Ballinger ridge.
By:
At least Fallon put his head in front.
By:
Up there with Top Cees imo.
By:
she got tired i reckon

Did she think there was another lap?

Not forgetting Ignotus. What was the Irish hurdle one from quite a few years ago? (same stable won it)
By:
That looked like a 'Phoenix From The Flames' version of the Brian Storey ride on Flowing River in 1991.
By:
I'd have won on that putting up 36 lbs overweight.

Think the race you were thinking of is Laetitia at Cork 24th April 2005. Not sure if link will work but still on ATR player if you log in. http://www.attheraces.com/VideoConsole/?va=COR_2005_04_24_05_1655 |
By:
Laetitia - that's the one. Thanks valdo
By:
One in a novice hurdle at wincanton(or taunton) about 7+ years ago is a clear 2nd place imo.
By:
fawwon-was that wild power-or something like that?
By:
tbh lads I've seen a lot of non-triers but if we are sticking to british racing flowing river sets the benchmark.
By:
confirmed-wild power 4th march 2004 taunton-ridden by w worthington. beaten 1/4 length-ran on under tender handling on the flat
By:
That is a heck of a live shout chew the pillow, could well be the one but my memory is of a female trainer? If janov or ppking was still here they would nail it immediately.
Seems the west country novice hurdle races around that time were up there with the modern day all weather scene. |
By:
Wild power was trained by Ian Williams when it ran at taunton. Even Francome on the morning line said that he pulled it.
By:
fawwon are you talking about the race that was won by david pipes girlfriend and trained elsewhere allegedly ?
By:
I really don't know, the memory is extremely vague.
Usually remember every detail of races from years ago. |
By:
Get those steward over here immediately. Sascha Stappaerts has been banned from owning, training or riding horses for 5 years and the horse Eastern Warrior has been suspended from racing for 3 years having been found guilty of stopping the horse. She was also fined £10,000.
By:
good, imagine that over here. racing would be finished.
By:
Bit harsh on the horse. It wasnt his fault he didnt win.
He wont be allowed to race for 3 years. That is ludicrous. |
By:
Not harsh atall Mr Eboue it'll be a warning to owners if you get involved with dodgy trainers you'll pay also
By:
I know she owns the horse but not too many trainers will want their horse stopped when they see that sentence she got.
By:
horse found nothing, given every chance!
By:
I'd have just said i thought we had to go around again
By:
The Belgian Jockey club took two weeks to ban the horse and rider.
The BHA take over TWO YEARS before administering slaps on the wrist. Discuss which country has the best racing authority. |
By:
Sorry it is not fair on the horse. If it is not allowed to race, what will happen to it? Might end up at the cheval butchers.
Why not force her to give away the horse and then let the horse run. |
By:
Who was the ATR's fence sitting presenter who saw little wrong in it please?
By:
Looked like it had about 3 stone in hand, clearly **** or else the most incompetent rider ever scene on a racecourse!
By:
Flowing River
Shud av bin warned off 4 life |
By:
Wolverhampton stewards dispute the findings of the Belgian authorities.

Al Down describes the bravery and whole-hearted thrusting, comradery of the weighing room asking who are the punters and readers to comment on a ride when most of us 'would not get on a bar-stool.'
Al says the jockette (sic) is one of a band of loveable maniacs who put their bodies on the line for our enjoyment on a daily basis and instead of criticising the, occasional, unlucky ride (She couldn't get a run) we should be rejoicing in the joy these stalwarts bring us. |

By:
Oh Jesus - the Gravy Train in full flow

By:
Did Down really write that Apoligist?
By:
No silver.
I tried to mimic his O level prose. |
By:
Very good, but it wouldn't surprise all the same if he did.
By:
only second to the infamous Casella Park at Newcastle for me a few years back - if you haven't seen the race you need to!
By:
Ah, Casela Park, they certainly threw the book at connections after that - can anyone even remember their names now - sent a shudder down the backs of everybody in the top stables across the land
By:
Eamon Tyrrell trainer and jockey Jason Behan I think although not 100% - either way, a right pair of fookin chancers and got what they deserved....
