difficult to say as I had bets that I would have covered. I had layed The New One at 1.6 for £50 was trying to back at 1.55 to cover myself and id backed McCoy's mount for £10 - so I'll have lost £40 ish on that. It wont bankrupt me but it will annoy me all day!!

I hardly use the site nowadays and I'll prob just take my money out now and give it up. POOR POOR POOR BETFAIR

TBH probably saved money since some of the races at 3pm but that's not the point. Amateur operation that shuts down too often..
Report CharlieCroker69 January 12, 2013 3:49 PM GMT
to be fair all bets on races run while the exchange was down should be void and stakes returned.
Report rosshatton January 12, 2013 3:51 PM GMT
Was trying to put a good bet on The New One when it went down. Getting mad at betfair though would be like putting your sister in goals and then getting mad at her for letting a few in, what else would you expect from an amateur.... I probably average about once a week on betfair and in the last 2 years I reckon I have been on the website 4-5 times when its gone down, so that's about 4-5% of the time... Interesting...

Think I saved £20 as I wanted to put that on Pete the Feat.

£800 loss. You have no chance of a refund. They don't accept responsibility for traders not closing positions.

Fortunately a leading trading application continued o.k. I would have thought that all serious punters/traders would have some form of backup.

I have 2 internet access points at home - just in case. I have a Batdeq account (see previous post) - just in case. I have accounts with bookies. I had Bet Angel running on the 3:35 Warwick, which couldn't place bets. I had Betacular open on my phone, which couldn't place bets. There's only so much you can do.

loads, I was gonna back all the winners of the races when BF was down Sad

careera32....didn't need to send an email. They could see my outstanding bets that would have been matched and settled accordingly.

Probably they set a level at which they decided to refund, don't know where but at least £500 or more I would have thought. They really are not bothered about the £5 and £10 punters.
Report Carrera32 January 13, 2013 10:08 AM GMT
Trusty, same here in the 15:35 Warwick. I had £1900 unmatched lays on 3 horses that were being matched at the time of the crash. We all got emails as below. Was just wondering what your special circumstances were.

Thank you for your e-mail.

Firstly let me apologise for the site issues earlier today. However as per our terms and conditions we are unable to compensate for bets you may have placed if the site had been available for betting. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further enquiries.

Kind regards,

Carrera, got the same e-mail as you on the 15:35 Warwick.

Had £112.50 unmatched lay at the time of the crash and had no Betquack account as a back up.

Considering giving it all up as it is so infuriating, could happen again at any time........
