Rank (did the Holding Company change their name after the purchase of said "Bookmakers") announce that they cannot make any money out of the rancid firm.Apparently they actually employed traders in Alderney.I do not know whether to laugh or cry....

Blue Sq have not had traders in Alderney as far as I can recall Sportingbet still have traders and Surrey Racing were here till they went back to the UK a few years ago

Who would want to be on that windswept God forsaken hole.Had many dealings with the "Authorities" who were as clueless as the alleged Blue Square traders...

Complaints that went unanswered because the alleged "Authorities" were clueless !!

Not bitter topshop as they paid off a significant part of my mortgage along with those clowns 888sport who for some reason take their prices !!

Unfortunately like many on here ran out of identities but I will be back.....

By authorities do you mean the Gambling Commission, which seems to be pretty much well respected and licence a great deal of bookmakers?

Unless some one buys them daniel. Who would want to buy a firm that has consistently lost money and seems to spend all its resources on closing down successful punters rather than addressing the real issue...

Rank poor trading......

and on a personal basis, I hope all the people who ran the affiliate side of the business get their P45s as they were total scum

topshot - I certainly do..

If they are well respected by certain "bookmakers" then that should suggest to you that they are not going to play fair with the ordinary punter particularly as there is no one there who has a clue about Gambling.

To summarise I will use the magic three words that sum up that small Island and all who sail in her...

Full Tilt Poker....

Plenty of Bookmakers in the World that have no shops and no machines that make stacks of money and do not ban winning punters...

Unfortunately they do not take bets on UK Horse-racing (come to think about it nor do nobet£3.65...)

not surprised if this is true, these clowns had just about the best portfolio of pitches on course you could imagine but couldn't make it pay so decided to sell, all they had to do was stick an advert in the RP and bookies would have been knocking their door down but no they employed an agency who knew eff all about the on course game or any other game for that matter, they produced a brochure and sent to what they thought were leading bookmakers, but in fact they were far from that who wouldn't have had the slightest interest in their pitches, however a few shrewdies got wind of this and offered to but the lot which was their preferred option as they didn't want any bad publicity apparently! and these guys got them for at least half a million less than thir true worth and some have sold them on for at least double, nice work for the rank shareholders, lol.

Sad news, for an ex employee of theirs. Worked in telebetting in Highbury between 2003 and 2005, and still remember those days even now. Not that I suspect hardly anyone I knew is still there anyway.

But it was a good place to work, sad to hear it might soon be all gone

No way BD,it's only a couple of years since they sold them, also the really top pitches will still fetch as much as ever,Chester was moved on for at least double less than a year ago,i know the cheltenham pitch has been offered over double and york as well.
