Chapman mumbling on about by far the best horse in the race being the winner, presume he didnt see the 3rd then
|
|
By:
if kneller had been btn a nck on the 3rd , shed have got best ride of the week and worst ride of the week and in all honesty they were almost identical

just worked out what your on about - i backed Candyman for a place too. Really fat price. Didn't see race, just result.
Gutted to find i went so close So she was to blame was she? |
|
By:
didn't to the hold-up thing that worked so well on Reginald Claude did she?
|
|
By:
pretty much
|
|
By:
She only hit Candyman Can once in the final furlong and it then took off - basically she is weak on a horse and rarely uses the whip as she isn't strong enough.
|
|
By:
how dare you be critical of this girl whos being considered for ride of the week.

I strongly disagree with the OP.
Go back & watch this horse's races he has 1 very short spurt of speed that doesn't last long. He has to stay on the bridle for as long as possible before being delivered with his challenge. If a jockey moves a muscle too early to urge him into the race he empties very very quickly. The last 3 times that Kneller has riden this horse it has won (he's raced 2 other times & not won under other jockeys). What she executed today was riding to her instructions to perfection. Well done to connections who clearly know the horse inside out. |

I thought this thread was going to be about the Henry Cecil trained beast that won at York some years ago!

Stoozbet, you are looking at the wrong horse. Look at Candyman Can. Look especially at the rear view if possible. This horse has never won and was FTO in Handicap company, so can only presume you are looking at the wrong horse.

Apologies. I was referring to Reginald Claud which is what I thought you were talking about when saying ride of the week.
Having watched Candyman Can I see your point. After the 1st victory she looked over-confident about getting there & totally miss-judged it. I see your frustration. I doubt she'll make the same mistake again though.. |
|
By:
Ah in fairness, its not unusual to see FTO handicappers given a sighter
![]() Given the lack of "Action" in the straight, I would guess she may have been given instructions |

By:
no joe , you were right the first time , shes awfull.the two rides were very very similar the difference being the first one happened to get up on the line, the same could have happened to cndyman but didnt.
|
|
By:
she rides very coolly, if you laid that at some stupid price when travelling so well out the back , more for you. If are really watching, you would have picked up on it. pocket talking mug punt , slating a decent ride from a apprentice. Get a grip.

By:
she rides very coolly
She is useless. I did back it so pocket talk? Yes. But the rear view was an absolute joke (hands and heels) whilst others were driving fully out. Pathetic effort in the straight until she hit it one crack of the whip and finished like a rocket. |

can you ride a horse?

By:
it was a very cool and clever ride, it you think other wise ,lay her.

whoops sorry, i came on to see what yall were saying about kneller and saw
" Ride of the week earlier my b**locks......she is useless " She will have some shockers but is allowed to at this stage. Is what is impressive is how calm she can be, she won't have a problem for pressure stepping up if given the chance. I also felt that after the Leyona Mayor and the Daily Mail, that it is important to recognise the actual talent. cheers |
