I urge you all to give serious consideration on giving up betting on AW racing. No more AW comps or tips posted on it and keep your money for the better stuff. Lets kill this rancid part of the game off!

i have a database full of runners that i don't think were ever given a chance recently.
amazing how many are transformed with a good tactical ride when they see some support in the market
going round the inside held up at wolves off a slow pace is a great way of fecking up a horses chance.

at least going for prices with some of the smaller trainers especially you may be able to get on one that isn't obviously smashed up when they want it.

Makes me laugh when i read this "I am doing the cards for tomorrow" bullshine, it's a total & utter waste of time unless you know the horse is trying / fit / well / has eaten up/ had an uninterupted preperation / no bug in yard / jockey wasnt on the lash last night / blood count right / knocked itself in box / had bad trip to track Etc.. Etc.. Etc.., otherwise what is the point really ?
Beggars belief

This was from 16th November 2011 over the same C/D, presumably they saw nothing wrong with the ride today...
The Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of ROCKET ROB (IRE), ridden by Stevie Donohoe, and trained by Willie Musson, which finished sixth, beaten 3 1/4 lengths. The Stewards interviewed the rider and the trainer. They also received a report from the Veterinary Officer who confirmed that the gelding appeared normal post-race. The rider stated his instructions were to drop the horse out, get him running and make an effort in the home straight. He added that the race was run at a fast pace, and that although ROCKET BOB (IRE) responded well to the whip, he did not get the best of runs. The trainer confirmed the instructions, and stated that he was satisfied with the ride the gelding had been given. He added that the gelding was often slow to start. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race the Stewards noted their explanations.

PMSL Just watched Rocket Rob for the first time, to see what the fuss was all about. Donohoe says the horse "responded well to the whip" - aye, the whip being waved alongside its head, it was never touched once! He made sure his right arm - the one on the blind side from the stands - was all motion but with no actual contact being made.
He said also "he did not get the best of runs" Ha Ha! It never had a horse less than 3 lengths directly in front of it all the way up the straight FFS! He must have sighed when the field parted like the red feckin sea!
When a trainer says he is ´satisfied´ with a ride like that he should be fined heavily.
Of course it won´t be allowed to win next time as too many eyes will be on it now - it´ll be left a gallop short, fed a pie, will miss the break and come home 2nd last...until another day.
Just scandalous.

Having said all that, I agree with another poster today who said that its the trainers who should be hit heaviest. They´re the ones who tell the jockey what to do. Journeymen jockeys know they must obey or they will get no more rides.
I remember many years ago a friend, who was an owner, told me that Mark Birch had been telling everyone he knew that one of his mounts would almost certainly win one day up north. Everyone was on big time, needless to say. But when Birch got into the paddock the trainer told him ´not today Mark´ in his thick Yorkshire accent...Unfortunately there was no BF to lay off in those days.

I'm surprised anyone else noticed Donohoe .................. .... he's usually at the back behind a wall of horses.
The way to deal with dodgy trainers is to slap 7lb penalties on every horse they train. Then the owners will go elsewhere.

Tiptheodds, as pointed out above, that was from Nov, 2011 - not the run last night, for which there was no SE.
But fwiw, I thought the ride last night looked a lot worse. In fact I was quite surprised they had them in on that night in Nov 2011. So surprising given the past history over that very same c/d, no questions were asked last night, imo.
