No wonder Harry Rogers told him to go **** himself in Leopardstown 7 or 8 years ago. Harry knew his horse should have won instead of finishing 10th or 11.

Just had a good look back at it and in my humble opinion, hard to say there was anything dodgy about it.
He's a bit wide on the approach to the straight and not unreasonably (to avoid being quite wide into the straight) he cuts back in. Once in the straight it just doesn't open up for him. Now had he wanted to stop the horse, he could have just stayed where he was in the pocket, but he does look to pull out and does so, but from the side-on view (and of course it is a short straight) there isn't time to recover. It didn't look great from the head-on view, but from the side view (and there's probably also an element of him realising it's a hopeless cause as they were deep into the final furlong), he does push out firmly enough imo. n summary, he had the choice between going quite wide into the straight or taking his chance through the field. He chose the latter and it didn't work out because the gaps didn't open. Hard to argue in this instance (imo) he was anything other than just plain unlucky. |

Just my humble opinion, mad dog man, you're free to give your own detailed account of what you thought happened.
|
|
By:
for a man of his experience it's a ridiculous effort, at what point during the home straight does he want to engage full stride from the horse..10 yards from the line? It's not good enough, it's failure to ensure his mount finishes to it's best position and it deserved a ban.

Seemed to be following Luke Morris around for some reason even after he'd bumped it a few times on the way round

Only a piece of real filth would get done for assaulting a filly.
As Eddie has been. |

By:
Jack Sullivan (Eddie Ahern, Lingfield, 5/6 fav) was steadied at the start but soon pulled himself on to the heels of the leaders. When he was looking for a run approaching the furlong marker he found himself trapped on the inside behind the winner, hemmed in by Vicious Warrior, but when he found room the response was limited.
