Authorities cancel high class 3 horse race....reason bookmakers say it's not good for turnover.
Surely a case of tail wagging the dog....wouldn't happen in Ireland thank god..the whole programme in England is geared to mediocre .

It seems a bizarre decision given that there is a 3-runner event at Newcastle tomorrow that will generate even less turnover.

No doubt they'll use the £17.5k of Levy Board money on funding a few more sellers and class 6 handicaps at Wolves.

Good post Dr Gonzo, If bookmakers were only allowed on tracks and on the Internet you can bet that the
racing cards would look a lot different but legislation has placed them on a higher rank as the government
relies on the proximity of bookmakers to urban wallets as a tax related higher priority than the funding, welfare
and future of horse racing, sad but very true...

For the British public and the racing tracks the legalisation of high street gambling has been a severe
pain in the arse and will continue to get much worse.

The race was cancelled - the BHA gave trainers the opportunity to have it rerun and the majority of trainers said we can't be arsed tyvm.
