Bit like Messi vs Keegan, class vs a good strong worker, as usual press will not admit who the real gov is, why ruby got top jobs both sides of the sea?

mccoy is better ,ruby gets alot of great rides.
Report tillymay December 28, 2012 10:56 PM GMT
think today proved it once and for all to be honest...mccoy is capable of a magnificent ride aka w lineman and his three in a row at chel all those years ago was superb but everyone of ruby's three in a row today were masterful displays of strength, will, poise, judgement and talent..thoroughly magnificent and never to be forgotten...ps i really dislike him personally as a smart arse sneerer but thats a whole different story
Report larrence December 28, 2012 10:59 PM GMT
I would rather be on mccoy anyday of the week.

Cant see how you dislike RW, his interviews are direct and so informative only Barry Geraghty gives such interviews.

90% Horse and 10% Jockey.
IHTH.

Larrence-leave your sexual preferences out of it-Ruby is clearly the better jockey.
Report Ballhopper December 28, 2012 11:22 PM GMT
Probably isn't easy for people who have built McCoy up into "The greatest of all time" to admit that for quite some time there has been someone who is much better - and rides every horse totally differently.
Report Brother Mouzone December 28, 2012 11:23 PM GMT
I don't think racing does have AP as the guvnor, he's obv one of the top men that ever sat on a horse but it's pretty much universally accepted that Ruby is number one isn't it? he's just had that perfect combination of incredible natural talent + opportunity that makes the lucky few a genius in their chosen field.
Report judorick December 28, 2012 11:24 PM GMT
yup ruby is a genius horse rider and I wouldn't say the same about mccoy

Tillymay-that comment is spot on and Rupert admits as much in his autobiography - main criticism of himself is that he is too quick to jump to the smart comment.

He is a much more complete jockey than McCoy or anyone else.

If I owned a horse entered to run in a big race and had the choice between Ruby or McCoy, I would pick Ruby every time.
Report ACStafford December 29, 2012 1:30 AM GMT
I find it hard to believe that people still try to argue that McCoy is better than Walsh. It's not even close.

Smoker V Non Smoker?.........Dont be silly ffs.Plain
Report ThunderRoad December 29, 2012 9:59 AM GMT
I'd rather have Ruby on my Group 1 horse, and McCoy on all my others.

Does that mean McCoy's better overall?
Report larrence December 29, 2012 11:34 AM GMT
in 200 years time nobody would forget the name A.P.Mccoy. The greatest NH jockey of alltime.
If mccoy rode for mullins he would be champion jockey in ireland as well as england in the same season.Laugh
Report EVILROYSLADE December 29, 2012 11:53 AM GMT
Both brilliant horsemen. I have to agree with Tilly however as to Ruby being a dont give a **** about the punter type! Unless of course its the Mullins money at stake. Doesn't mind that side of racing when it lines their pockets. Nothing wrong with that, but he should be consistent with his comments. Personally, given equal mounts? McCoy for me.
