the worst ride in the history of racing......................i dont care how much a monkey the horse is............you need to try and win when the line is coming
however even if you're trying to kid it home, you don't put it up the arse of the one in front a furlong out then expect to be able to switch and quicken up past it in a 1m 4f class 6
the horse is a complete roguehowever even if you're trying to kid it home, you don't put it up the arse of the one in front a furlong out then expect to be able to switch and quicken up past it in a 1m 4f class 6
i dont care if the horse doesnt want to win.............the jockeys job when hes a length down is to TRY AND WIN............otherwise get ANOTHER F U C K I N JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB

its utterly irrelevant for the integrity of the game....in any other jurisdiction we wouldn't be seeing him for a long time...the horse is a dog but he didn't try to bloody win!!!!!!

Lets not beat about the bush. The winner is backed from 10-1 to 7 -2.The second could have won and should have won.Never mind about previous form if that was always right we would be rich.Robert Winston as sailed close to wind before.I back nothing in the race but what was clear winston is a professional jockey he knows when to challenge and this was absymal horse never had time to win.BHA need to take action irrespective of betting market

yes the horse is a monkey but you he could have jogged alongside the other animal and only had to push it for a few strides near the line would have won.
was attrocious judgementyes the horse is a monkey but you he could have jogged alongside the other animal and only had to push it for a few strides near the line would have won.
we all know the horse is hard to win with but it was never given a chance
i'm sure those that backed it would rather it was upsides 50 yards out than what SDS did.

Interesting race. Winner drifted from 9/4 an hour before the race out to 9/2 ( Backed ,presumably for pennies with £3.65 from 14/1 > 7/1 last night. Was entered a few weeks ago and backed from 25/1 > 4/1 before being scratched.
White Deer is a rogue. Winston's tactics got it as close to the front as could be.

i don't think it would have had to be ridden more than a few strides in that race if allowed to get closer
have a look at tudhopes ride on it when it won.
thats the first race this character has been put into properly for ages and it wasn't given the chance to shirk

^ striding I am the same as you, never had a bet on the race so feel as though I can be objective. the horse is a monkey and needs it's head put down on the line to win.Can you remember challanger du luc striding ?
it would run over a horse for the last 3 furlongs on the bridle but would never go past, some of the best jocks tried but failed. Winston imo gave the horse everychance, the horse had to be ridden to win on the line and did not. It is not a jockeys fault that a horse is a rougue.

for me Winston tried to be too clever on a tricky horse. It looked awful, if i'd back it i'd be fuming but as for a bent ride ,not for me. If you want to get one beat in an 11 runner 1.5mile handicap on a hold-up horse it's quite simple to get stuck behind rivals and get the horse beaten many times in the race. If you really needed your horse to be beaten to pull him out even 50 yards from the line where the leader could suddenly stop would be pretty stupid.

I just looked at the race again on at ATR. Horrible ride. Jockey did not make an effort at all. I looked at other races from same horse and never ridden like that before. (I suppose its hard for a ride like thayt)
Anyone with a brain can see what he was up too.
BTW I backed the winner

this horse is so well handicapped these days it is going to pull itself into races like that. i get the fact it doesn't find but when a horse travels so well that the jockey is putting it up the arris of the leader, it surely is better to let it roll a bit earlier and then only have to push it for a few strides near the post. if it gets beat then fair enough but don't give it an impossible task.
SDS misjudged the effort imo, it happens but he has to take some responsibility.
i'm not wet behind the ears matei have plenty of experience with these typesthis horse is so well handicapped these days it is going to pull itself into races like that. i get the fact it doesn't find but when a horse travels so well that the jockey
if you look at its recent races its been ridden from far back and only got into the places late after being pushed a fair way out.
tonights race was a golden opportunity missed as it actually pulled him there easily

, the horse was never given an earthly of winning that race, purely down to the rider in the home straight. It was a joke & the horse was happily in front 20yds after the line & going away from the winner on the pull up, hardly the sign of something that wont go to the front.....I would love to hear the jockey's explanation for that rancid performance.
Probably only so much they can say on the telly, but dont insult people's intelligence by apologising for rides like that......

Why do you think have we not - "HEARD THE LAST OF THIS ONE."
Do you really think ANYBODY from the BHA is actually watching the LAST race from Wolverhampton DOG track on a SATURDAY NIGHT?
Even the 'Racing for Change' clowns will be 'out on the wine'.

its amazing that in this part of the world............a supposed 1st class country that we have to listen to this crap that the horse is a supposed monkey and that this ride is acceptable.....that the jockey doesnt have to try and win.........and that we can just forget about it........show this racE to the rest of the world and they will wonder...........WHAT THE HECK IS THE JOCK DOING?

whilst it looks like the horse was pulled surely all winston needed to do was keep on the rail and ensure his forward move was blocked....he must be brain dead if he thought that the way not to win was to let the horse look like he was cantering over the opposition and not throw down a challenge when the first two were clear.....such a stupid ride that i don't actually think it was pulled

andyls got him spot on rides like that cost him very dear.and to be fair he.s a very capable jock and stoute thought so to and was prefered to ryan moore at i point until stoute thought he pulled one of his.

I needed Chookie for a double, was put in mind of a race when I'd backed Katchit and the winner just cruised along behind, went past to win with no effort.
Honestly one race where I thought it actually looked fixed. Thankfully for me.

RacingPost ANALYSIS - apparently written AFTER reading Winston's 'excuse'
White Deer moved into contention going strongly, but ultimately found the winner too resolute. He´s well up to this sort of mark, but is tricky to actually win with. ---------------------
Yet ..... ANALYSIS after WHITE DEER's previous race. ....
'The handicapper knows all about the exposed White Deer and he ran his usual honest race in third'.
