no skill in backing horses in running, ive been out on the course 7 years, seen plenty come and go in my time, what went wrong with them if no skill??? youre either good at the game or ya aint!!!!!

no different to working in a trading shop...only diff is on course get better value...doesnt stop you laying a winner or backing a loser...

By:
THEGHOST There is zero skill ZERO in backing a horse about to pass the line.
The only ones that do it are the clueless ones who wouldn't know a form book if you hit them over the head with it. Backing in running mid race is a different kettle of fish, but the 1.10 crew and those that lay fallers are clueless, but quick |
By:
i bet near the line and can assure you im far from clueless TRD...
im in a trading shop 90% of the time and well behind track players..still make a good living... Cricket: £152.10 | Golf: £444.48 | Greyhound Racing: £188.95 | Horse Racing: £26,495.87 | Soccer: -£308.75 Total P&L: £26,972.65 last 30 days ^ wots your last 30 days p&l? ![]() |

Hunty Unlike you I have no desire or need to give it the big look at me.
I've been doing this full time for 20 years and have never had to need to give it the big un. Been my only income and I do just fine. How many times have you done your lot Hunty laying at 1000 or backing 1.01,at least twice that I can remember. It's a mugs game and will eventually end in you doing your lot again, just like before. |
By:
This is mine today solely from IR at home
Horse Racing: £2,662.97 Total P&L: £2,662.97 I have still never bet on a race in running from racecourse, trading shop, using SIS or raw feed. I have only ever used what was widely available for everybody from home. |
By:
TRD the ghostofstow is correct..your feckin clueless..you tark utter ****
ive never done my lot ever...ive laid plenty 1000 winners...backed plenty 1.01 losers...just for your information..when i lost £150,000 laying metal detector @ 1000 i had won £190,000 the previous 9 weeks since i had started goin to thornaby trading shop..so not really a big deal is it? so haway lets see how much clued up individuals make? show me your p&l ? |

By:

By:
TGIB...if i told you the scenario what happened you wudnt bleeve me...
i had £249,903 in my acc and was laying for £150 @100 as the race started i said aloud in the trading shop "haway metal detector fall at the 1st so i'll g have 1/4 mill" a horse in similar colours fell and thommo called metal detector as the faller..i clicked..got matched and it wasnt metal detector and the rest is history...surreal circumstances... ![]() |

to say theres no skill involved is crazy, so ok theres a few lads who stand in last 50 yards, i know a couple very well, they win month in month out, year in year out!!!!! no skill????? AND times n times they go past ones a head up, the other fights back and bang they hit the line together,,,,, but one of them hasnt got involved!!!!!! although the looser may have gone 1.03/1.04 or even 1.01!!! but hes missed it!!!! so theres no skill invoved?????? now im different i play further out, i get plenty at the game, i call plenty loosers, some may go 1.01, im not on that short but plenty get beat, but my friend, if theres no skill why have plenty gone skint
By:
In the last few years it is almost impossible to lay a 1.01 even if you lay the field in a race the night before, the queuing system is non existent.
By:
Your mates are greatly assisted by Betfair suspending every race well after the line allowing them to hoover up. Betfair get their 60% of course.
By:
I have tried to bet in running at the track and have found very hard to make a profit
yet betting in running at home using RUK and ATR I make small but acceptable profits, the difference being that at the track I am a backer and at home a layer. |
By:
Try this wee eck, pick a race tonight, lay the field at 1.01 and keep,or do all the cards the same.
1.01 if any horse trades at 1.01 you will not get matched. |
By:
GT, You are right only the insiders get matched at 1.01 when one gets beat, been telling my
mate for years that something not kosher is going on at the end of most races. |
By:
All that apart, hope you are well in health and wealth. So many cans of worms seem to be getting opened industry wide and a cloak of silence the order of the day.
By:
gt only the priveleged ones get to top the 1.01 cue .............b/fairs buddys

GT for an old timer I am doing OK was at the Doctors this week for a review

Thats the spirit wee eck, keep your pecker up,not many survive only taking viagra.

CLAPS TO ROLLO....YOU MUST BE VERY TALENTED .....but you would still have won more seeing faster feeds !!! FACT
By:
Calling Mr Hunt, you are guy whose opinion i greatly respect, you are not a dreamer
or liar and your posts are honest and informative. Mr Hunt there is a question that puzzles me and as yet I cannot get a satisfactory answer, the question is this, do all the guys who pay to sit in boxes at race meetings make it pay? or is it a case of survival of the fittest? A supplementary question I would like answered is this, if these guys are winners who are the losers? members of the hoi poloi who use ATR and RUK? |
By:
andyl, I assume when you write faster feeds I assume you mean racetech?
By:
NO wee eck, rollo has publicly stated he only uses freely available pics....ie bbc and ch4 analogue (now finished everywhere) or ruk, atr or live video
if you play a race on a live racetech feed you will get better prices than playing on ruk/sis/atr etc the vast majority of the time...it's a fact as the money in running available (liquidity) isn't great and it only takes a few players or 1 sometimes to take the value on that horse at that critical point in time....i would struggle to win 2600 playing at home (although it can be done) so i take my hat off to mr rollo tomasi as he must be some judge....imo there is no substitute for seeing close to live pics...anything more than 1-1.5s and it's near impossible (jumps eccepted) to win imo |
