Hoping for something spectacular today, whilst I respect Ashdan Gosden gave me the impression that he was still a bit immature and I thought a softly softly approach was going to be taken with him, now he is plunged in against one of the most dominant 2yos I've seen in my time. I am not forgetting the great Frankel of course but him aside the only 2yo colts I can remember with Dawn Approach's stranglehold on the division were Alhaarth, New Approach and possibly Nayef? Nayef was questionable though but he was all about potential at the time and beat what was put before him, possibly not in the highest calibre 2yo races. How does everybody see it panning out today? I shall also be watching how The Ferryman performs with great interest, having had a small interest on Mars for next years Derby.
I think there are a few good two year old's around at present and next year's Classics will be something to look forward to.
Yes Dawn Approach is exciting (I cannot see him being beaten today) and has done everything asked of him so far but the weather has played its part this year and a lot of decent horses have yet to lock horns or have not done so on decent ground.
I also don't think the the question of whether this horse will stay with Jim Bolger or will be transferred to Godolphin has been resolved. If he moves yard you will have to hope they keep him in UK over the winter.
As for Mars, I cannot see how a once raced maiden winner on the all weather at Dundalk can be favorite for the Derby, but good luck with your AP punts.
