This is from poole pirates website mate. HOLDER GIVES THE GREEN LIGHT SUNDAY 21 OCTOBER, 2012 WORLD CHAMPION CHRIS HOLDER has given the Poole Coastal Aluminium Pirates an eve-of-final boost by declaring himself fit to ride in Monday's Elite Grand Final (7.30pm). Earlier in the day Holder had sustained an ankle injury when his foot slipped under his footrest during his Polish play-off meeting for Torun and there were fears that he might be ruled out of the Pirates crucial second leg Grand Final tie against Swindon Robins. Coming hot on the heels that current Poole number one Darcy Ward was already ruled out after he was assaulted on Friday night, an incident that had left him hospitalized over the weekend, Poole's hopes of pulling back the 7 points from the first leg looked decidedly tougher if Holder, winner of Saturday's Elite League Riders Championship, would have also been sidelined. But hours after the Polish meeting Holder declared on his Twitter account that he was 'still planning to race" on Monday. The Pirates have drafted in King's Lynn Star Niels-Kristian Iversen as cover for Ward and have also confirmed that late call-up Linus Eklof will retain his place in the Poole side, as the Pirates seek to defend their Elite league title. |
