Not for 5 years or more have I thought Frankie was the best jockey riding whether it be a derby or a brighton seller that is too ridiculous to claim, absolutely no evidence, in fact plenty to suggest he is not.
Frankie was not surprised to get the call because he has been fishing all week for the ride and for him to say he has not spoken to Aiden is a downright lie. I think he will be alright because he is going to get what he rquires these days and thats an armchair ride. I am not sure how Godolphin will portray all this but lurking at the back of my mind is the thought this could be more about getting even. No doubt Frankie has been belittled and shown little respect these past months and while relations may have thawed between the 2 giants of the turf I doubt there is any depth to it. In essence Frankie and Coolmore could serve a little comeuppence and perhaps this was never Frankies idea and maybe a promise to keep the ride on camelot should he stay in training if he wins was a carrot too juicy for him to refuse. The fact that Buick is without doubt the top jockey of the day and was free suggests to me that Frankie will be leaving Godolphin at the end of this season and while others will disagree, my hat will go into orbit as I back most of the Godolphin horses and many just for a place so Dettori has no place in my heart and while mascots are alright they can be expensive. Should this come about I will definitely get Chappers to do many of his yeehaas. |

Ignore all the hype AOB has created purely for stud value, the horse has achieved very little. Yes he has won a Derby and a Guineas but the form of both races are woeful. The form of both races are barely good enough to be classed as group 3's tbh. Look at the winners that have come from the races.
He's a good horse fortunate enough to be in the worst classic year for decades. I wont say he wont win the Arc as it's cut up badly, surely it shows how much they rate him on the basis they weren't convinced about running him when Nathaniel, Snow Fairy and Danedream were still entered. |

Maybe or maybe not he is good enough
![]() But I am glad he is running and taking on older horses at least once this year ![]() Frankie is good enough jockey to give him every chance ...the rest is in the lap of the gods took 9.8 Camelot myself at w/e thought worth a go at the price ![]() |

I think from the 15 oponents in the 2000 only 4 have won races, Casper in the German Guineas, Trumpett in the Group 3 at Goodwood, Coupe De Ville in a 3 runner conditions race, and Power in the Irish Guineas. Hardly bombproof form.
1 winner from the Derby, Bonfire beaten 20 lengths in the Eclipse, the form is awful. If he hit 3.5 I will be laying laying laying. |

You may well be right Law
..I only backed him on price not because I think he is any certainty ![]() Because the three year old form has looked so average this year I am really glad he is taking part to make a stand for himself ![]() Deeds impress me more than words ..I do not like hype. ![]() |

yes very tactful 'joseph cant make the weight' Nothing tactful about it at all, he can't make the weight and that's it. He would have to do 8-11 and even if he got down to that, he would hardly be at his fittest or strongest and most think he's as weak as my Nan's tea as it is, although ironically I think he can still win it anyway on St Nicholas Abbey. |

Yeah, the beaten horses from the Derby have won a single race all year - and that was when a few of them ran into each other.
Some of them are back running in handicaps. It's a poor crop of 3yo's. PP are laying 3/1 both Camelot and Orfevre (evens coupled) which seems like nice business if you can get it. |

apologies maz
![]() a bad attempt at humour..... You may well be right as well over St Nicholas Abbey Japanese horses though invincible on home soil have not covered themselves in glory in the Arc.... up to now ![]() although he won his trial comfortably and they will one year Camelots three year form is looking far from solid so who knows ![]() |

frankie easily the best jock riding today.
just not bothered riding out for a place half the time. |
|
By:
agree buses
...the day to day stuff does not do it for him anymore but I am sure he will do his part in the Arc, the rest is up to Camelot |
|

yeah exactly, we all know hes barely bothered these days but put him on a good horse in a good race and hes capable of things nobody currently riding is IMO.
lester cauthen eddery kinane dettori his name does not look out of place here imo. whether the horse will win is another thing but ive seen a few 'cant wins ' already which is puzzling to me as hes won a guineas and 2 derbys as well as a 2nd in the leger given a sh!t ride, still may not have won but it was not given its best chance to win the race and thats the only loss on his rec. he can win the arc without a doubt, think id rather the **** horse at this stage tho. gl |

No problem ebulGery.

The three year olds are bad this year and Camelot hasn't beaten anything of note. In fact I believe he's only ever beaten 2 group one winners in his life, Power and French fifteen. This is an exceptionally poor recond for a two time derby and two thousand guineas winner.
That doesn't mean he won't win the Arc though, a few weeks ago I wouldn't have given him a chance but with all the withdrawals the race is lacking depth now. Still Camelot has to be a lay at the present 4.4 price. |

Buses I know he's won the races, but just because they are classics it doesn't make them great races. Look at the horses that have run in open company. Born to Sea beaten 11 lengths in irish champion, on more suitable ground and for my money a better trip. Camelot wouldn't of liked the ground in the Irish Derby but Born to Sea was hardly going to love it. I think Sandown had to delay the rest of the meeting to let Bonfire finish (20 odds lengths).
All AOB cares about is stud values at retirement; for my money he wasn't "training So You Think wrong". The only mistake he made with SYT was to run him against better horses. He beat Carlton House who is hardly a world beater imo. I am convinced the best 3 year old he has this season is Imperial Monarch. Irish Derby late withdrawal, Arc late withdrawal. Everytime they run Camelot they pull Imperial. On heavy ground who would of won Imperial or Camelot? What is better for the operation, Camelot winning or Imperial? He may well win on Sunday and fair play if he does, but its hardly a vintage race hence him running. If he wins I will hold my hands up, and I will have layed him, if he wins I lose my money and will have got it totally wrong. As I will be at the course, it will be a hard one to take tbh! |
