Solely because of that dude from Laddies appearing on the ML show, I went out of my way to go to one of their shops to take advantage of their £20 cash-back if Camelot gets beat offer. The guy was lying through his teeth. He said "offer open to all clients" and "cash back if the horse gets beat". Manageress of the shop informed me offer only open to new or existing loyalty card holders, and anyway it's not cash-back, its refund of a free bet. Tanya you owe it to the punters to apologise for allowing that character to use your spot to con them.
Come on Ladbrokes, lets have an explanation, or an apology. As for Tanya and Mac....punters pals, you're having a laugh. Big Mac especially you can't claim ever again to be on our side.

Just watched this. ( I series record the morning line - sad I know!), and its an total disgrace that they can get away with these blatant lies. Anyone backing Camelot with Lads should demand their £20 refund as cash, and if not forthcoming should threaten them with the ASA.

well done on today

burley is a gob ****, it all started after levein defended his no fecking striker formation saying that he had none available... fletcher tweeted he was, then he pulled out of a friendly asking to be excused so he could concentrate on helping wolves after being out for 3 months, tbh i dont give a flying fook if he eats babies i wanna go to Brazil

Yes Liverpaul that's for tinternet customers or customers with Loyalty Cards not for the ordinary Joe Soap or Mrs Joe Soap who went into town especially to avail of their offer thinking how bad is that money is short but the nice Mr Ladbroke man said were on a no lose situation until 10am, they where in for a shock tonight

Tanya Stephenson commented 'Phenominal.'
IMO this was a most misleading statement - for it now transpires that Ladbrokes are NOT giving money back.
Can anyone here trust Ladbrokes- and what should now happen?

Come on Channel 4/Ladbrokes.What have you got to say for yourselves? Did you put us all away or not? And if you did, you must apologise accordingly. It's not the 20 quid that's at stake here, it's your integrity. The people I'm most disappointed in are the so-called "punters' pals" Tanya and Big Mac. I suppose Lord Snooty could make a name for himself next week by mentioning the con, after all he's got his jotters in 3 months anyway.

there was fookin hell on in my local laddies - the manageress couldn't even give the free bet back to the punters who claimed it - come back tuesday lunchtime and we'll see what we can do she said - nearly sh*t myself laughing!

There's no doubt that you, Fat Dodgy, crawled off to lay off your £10 liability on Camelot once you had got your bet on in William Hill - I can't imagine you doing anything else.
But it warms me to think that William Hill kept your money.

You went in to William Hill and had £25 @ evs Camelot, then you laid off c £40 @ 1.5 on betfair.
I'm glad William Hill won your (and 1,000 others who did the same) money, because they took that stance when they could just have laid Camelot on the exchange (what, you think Wm Hill can't access the exchenge?) so I'm glad their bravery was rewarded.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding our recent Camelot (St.Leger) offer.
We understand that it may have been perceived from our representative's announcement on Channel 4's Morning Line, that the offer was for a cash refund as opposed to a free bet token. Our terms and conditions, as displayed on our website and promotional literature, stated that the refunds would be in the form of a free bet token up to the value of £20 for all bets placed via the internet, telephone, WAP and Odds On customers in our shops. Please refer to the link below for full terms and conditions:
http://www.ladbrokes.com/stleger/
We sincerely apologise for any miscommunication that has taken place, as we appreciate that this may have resulted in a disappointing betting experience with Ladbrokes. I can assure you that this was not our intention, as we genuinely believed this was an exciting offer. We can confirm, however, that we will be adhering to our terms and conditions of the offer. Customers who qualified for this promotion will have received a free bet credited to their online accounts already; and for those customers that are members of our Odds On loyalty scheme that took advantage of the offer, the reward was credited to their Odds On points balance by noon on the 18th September 2012.
Once again please accept our sincerest apologies for any misunderstanding and we hope this now clarifies the situation.
Yours sincerely,

I see the clown that is unitedbiscuits is trying the same old trick on you that he did on me recently ie alluding that he somehow knows the bets you placed and also what you lay on Betfair trying to give the impression that he maybe has an "in" somewhere.Let me assure you that he is talking pure b0ll1X and that anything he says is pure guesswork. He actually tried telling me a list of shops that he "knew" i had visited one particular morning and what bets i had placed while i was there LMFAO.The guy is clearly off his rocker and although i detest him i also have a tinge of sympathy for him as those who feel the need to make up stories usually have a big void in their lonely little lives.

Insideinfo, Unitedbiscuits replied to a thread where the poster was looking to speak to a laddies shop manager, UB replied, so assuming he was not in his fantasy world, I would ring Laddies and also inform Betfair, that one of their "managers" is making remarks about your alleged betting patterns, see how long he lasts if he is a "manager" also would ensure a nice payout for you when you sue his ass.

UnitedBiscuits I DON'T believe you work for a bookmakers and although an bookie apologist I quite enjoy your Devils Advocate approach to debate on here which is very often very biased to the punters views.
However, sometimes it is time to concede an argument and accept that Mr Williams has made a serious error. You cannot have it both ways, free publicity without obligation of the claims made. Ladbrokes should take it on the chin and pay up. Hills made a great offer, came out on top and fair play to them, but they would have paid up if Camelot had won. This Ladbrokes skerming is plain embarrassing.
As for the statements that people taking the Hills offer are arbers, this is again rubbish. Even though I (and many others) on the deal lost, do you really think the majority of punters sold the value they had derived to 'steal' a few quid? I dont think so.

Swardean - A long time ago, for Betfair, there was a direct channel from moneysavingexpert.com to a market on this exchange that looked like it guaranteed a profit backing the field (top batsman, memory serves) and a lot of newcomers went big red when an unquoted player was introduced. In their generosity, Betfair, compensated all the losers; and that faction has always since had a vocal presence on this forum. I'm not saying that the majority arbed the Camelot offer. Some did.
The complainants are basically up in arms because the something for nothing they grabbed turned out to be different from the something for nothing they expected. It's an unedifying spectacle. Poor Mr Williams seems to be a bumbler, but you'd think he was wanted for war crimes. As for the guy hoping to get me sacked - good luck with that initiative. The only thing I'm afraid of is people thinking I'm on the same side as these bitter ingrates.

persoanlly i think williams was in the wrong, wouldn't be surprised if he just took the headline message and ran in front of a camera without proper checks
however, for the typical audience of that show which is a saturday punter, maybe small bets once per week he sold them a story and to be fair it needs to be apologised for

I think Williams wasn't fully briefed on the offer and hence 'mis-sold' it to the ML viewers. That doesn't in anyway excuse his culpability.
It was Ladcrokes big sponsorship day and they wanted to milk the publicity. However, Hil1s tweeted their even money Camelot offer late on Friday evening to try and upstage Ladcrokes. Sure this took Lads by surprise and imagine some boffs were up early to come up with something to match it. They came up with the offer and only updated Williams shortly before on air.
Seems plausible.

u cannot come up with an offer like this overnight they would have to send it to their actuaries who would factor in how much they could lay back on here the state of their book in on the day and see if they thgought it was worth it risk v publicity. anyone that thinks the PR people just thought "Hee u know what i think it would be great PR if".

As i'vc said earlier on here it's CH4 that are culpable.
They choose to give REP-tiles free advertising, and obviously trusted Williams implicitly, because they never checked the offer themselves... Or would that be too much to ask ?

If you do not mention this buffoon's outrageous lies on last Saturday's Morning Line then I shall be disappointed as I have always categorised you as someone who will fight for what is good and right and not someone who would hide under a shell. It would also be nice to hear John McCririck's views live on screen. There are hundreds of poor people out there, I not being one, who took Williams' word for granted and are now lumbered with a useless free £20 bet, some of whom are unable to use it due to the restrictions being applied by Ladbrokes so-called traders.
If we hear nothing then I can only assume you are all fighting to become part of the new lineup in January.
Incidentally, thank you for replying to my last email some two years ago, I appreciated it.

I don't take much notice of or interest in Flat racing but didn't Badblokes offer a similar concession on the Derby? Back Camelot (up to £20 I believe) at 1/2; get £30 if he wins, £20 back if he doesn't.
Can't recall how i learned this but went down to both their shops in Cheltenham to get my £40 on.
Of course in that case the beast won so no damage done.
Some sort of precedent surely??
