Bayrir in the Secretariat. I gotta have a screw loose to take on SilverMax but I really like this spot for Bayrir. Lightly raced, improving all the time, won the Prix Eugene Adam very cosily last time out, powerhouse connections. A very interesting contender imo.
The Million I'm sticking with Afsare. Just think the race is tailor made for a vintage Fallon ride. Keep Afsare in touch and strike on in the straight.
For the Big One at Saratoga...the Alabama...I've gone for Grace Hall in what will be a fantastic shoot out with Questing imo.
Wigmore Hall be talked up Stateside in the Million....they think he's a stud with Lasix...very unlucky in last years Million which was a far higher quality renewal than this one :o
Dont know...never really liked Wigmore but you never know...maybe he's a lasix only horsie.

I think it's a disgrace that we can't see this race, and I'm not even sure about a commentary! Why do we pay RUK? Why aren't ATR showing it?
So, that's Sky Sports subscription, ESPN whenever it's needed and PPV for any decent boxing - I suspect we're getting a bit ripped off!
No betting on Betfair which considering they cover ever other stinking US race absolutely sucks!
Who's responsible for this insane state of affairs? There'll be inevitable buck-passing but it's all utter balls!
If anyone finds a link online, it'd be much appreciated.

Remember Betfair are a niche player worldwide for Horse-racing.
You cannot reasonably expect a second-rate service provider to push the boat out for just three top-class Group 1 races, when only 38% of the runners come from Europe.

Romacaca went a good clip, Up pressing all the way and then kicked on, Joviality came out of the pack in the straight and I'm a Dreamer just kept grinding away and got past all of them.

This is an Irish Derby winner who was also just touched off in the last stride at Epsom as well, and a TRUE stayer, who's been fannying around over 10f and being held up! He hasn't been given a chance to run to his potential and I think he's just not suited to these tight US tracks - I'm sick & tired of hearing about what a genius O'Brien is but I just CANNOT see ANY evidence!
He fcuks up on a regular basis and with a stable replete with talent, his scatter-gun approach can hardly fail!
I think he's travelled the wrong sort of horse to the States, and moreover, he's used inappropriate tactics...this horse still has a big race in him, if he hasn't been soured by his trainer's appalling choices for him.
At the very least...he should be ridden for stamina...not speed!

navel i bkd treasure beach tonite.i was taken by his run at leopardstown.i agree with you that it has to be a plot.jamie has ridden it twice and colm o d once.i cant see what they are at but they will win a race with the horse before the end of the year..intresting .costing me money tho..

I posted a while ago that I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to see Treasure Beach in the Irish Champion as a third/fourth string, and be given too much rope just like Cape Blanco a couple of years ago!
Maybe ELG's right and he figures he's got a Champion Hurdler on his hands, because I can't remember the last proper group one horse I saw campaigned in such an ugly manner! The ONLY competition comes from the same sources and I'm regularly bewildered by that stable
Just imagine the success a better than average trainer would get from such riches for Magnier & Co. - O'Brien seems to be purposely sabotaging his string! Henry Cecil would have easily doubled his group one tally...statistics DO LIE.
For those who think I might be going overboard...I had a lot to write after Homecoming Queen pissed up in the 1000 Guineas, and I was absolutely spot-on! I think it was a thread started by Elis John for anyone that's interested.

Richters - Treasure Beach ran on to be in a bunch finish for about fifth place, but it was ridden like a speedster! Never nearer in a 10f race, for a thorough stayer that NEEDS a stamina test.
I've only seen the race once and I wouldn't normally post views without being sure, but I'm so pissed off about this horse and how it's being ridden - if he could talk, he'd tell us!

Stats always lie, that is why the STATS mupps always pay for our luxuries.Mount Jews never win at Chelt..........beaten Colts that have slipping bits in Dantes etc never win the Derby.

I hate to sound like an arrogant bastard but sometimes, even with the (alleged) top trainers, I've been CONVINCED they're WRONG!
O'Brien is someone with whom I have regular disagreements about his choices, but every now & again I just CANNOT believe why trainers as good a Cecil & Fabre make the decisions they do - I keep harping on about this but Henry running Twice Over at a mile absolutely bewildered me, when if anything that colt was well worth a try at 12f!
Fabre ran Golden Lilac in the Marois last week and after the disappointment of the Rothschild, he strangely persevered with the mile last week instead of the far more sensible Romanet option (over 10f) which is run tomorrow.
I readily concede that these two geezers are geniuses of the sport but their choices have absolutely baffled me Furthermore...I've been RIGHT!
I won't bother starting with Aidan as he's got an extensive rap-sheet for the wrong choices, and seems to enjoy fcuking up his horses for fun!
The top trainers get it right a vast majority of the time and that's what makes it more surprising to me when I totally oppose their veiws...O'Brien however...is a different kettle of fish
