toukie all you have to do is look at oddschecker market reports in the early evening and the pricewise horses are usually already halved in price.

^^  How does this help punters, please..?
Report silvergreaser August 18, 2012 8:46 AM BST
Millhouse just highlighting the Racing Posts false claims when pricewise has a winner, the prices stated are nearly always fictitious as the those in the know have already had their cut well before the paper even goes to print, the punters who follow pricewise are left to pick up the scraps.

Incidently I follow no tipsters only my own head,
Report stephensteve August 18, 2012 9:10 AM BST
I shall lay them at the "no value to punters" S.P

...will tell you how I get on.
Report GHADDAFFI. August 18, 2012 9:32 AM BST
I fail to understand why there is so much fuss made about the prices available. If you think they are too short you can either have a bigger bet if you fancy them or you can lay them. Why the constant moaning? Even worse are the rseholes who insult those that follow pw.  If they are so busy studying form what the hell are they doing reading this thread ? btw .. many thanks " thecount "
Report toukie August 18, 2012 10:24 AM BST
The prices are not fictitious, you can get them. What you can't do is get them for big stakes. Ladcrooks, Billys, Baldys and Paddys will normally take a pony in their shops, Jokes (aptly named) will take a tenner. Online they'll take more if you're a new customer, but once you win once or twice you'll be restricted to next to nothing or shut down. Of course, to get a bet on in a Ladcrooks shop, you first have to find one that is open at 8.15!
Report toukie August 18, 2012 10:35 AM BST
BTW Ladcrooks are getting stingier by the minute. Maximum total stake  £25 on Colonel Mak, so £12.50 only if you want to back it each way. They weren't even best price.
Report silvergreaser August 18, 2012 12:11 PM BST
They're fictitious toukie, Prodigity was best price 5/1 at midnight, some bookies squeezed it out to 7/1 for 10 minutes at 7/1 around 8.20 and swiftly cut it back in after a few customers got on for peanuts.
Colonel Mak was a best price 12/1 at midnight 16/1 the advertised price was never available.
Barnet Fair was a best price 9/1 at midnight, a couple pushed it out for a few minutes to 10/1 around 8.30 and same again swiftly cut after peanuts were laid.

Who is insulting anyone?, there are individuals who constantly slag off Pricewise threads certainly not me, everyman to himself I say.
The point I'm making these prices that are claimed by the Racing Post are never available to the ordinary Joe on the street, what the hell is wrong with highlighting this fraud please?
Report silvergreaser August 18, 2012 12:54 PM BST
If people want to back pricewise who am I to judge?, everyman to himself I say, there are people out there who constantly harass people on pricewise threads.
My point is, the prices the Racing Post claim on behalf of pricewise are simply never available to the ordinary Joe on the street, whats the problem with highlighting this fraud please?.
Report silvergreaser August 18, 2012 12:56 PM BST
weird? I posted the first one and it never registered, I then tried a 2nd time (slghtly different in wording) and both registered at the same time, anyway you get the drift!.
Report Big_Issue August 18, 2012 1:11 PM BST
I agree that PW is a waste of time, no doubt a good value picker and there is theoretical profit that's only available to small punters, fair enough if they are that lazy they have to rely on tipsters as they get p*****d in the pub next door, then lose anything they won on the last few races of the day anyway.

What I find annoying is when you have picked the same horse and now can't get on because it's a PW horse, or you will be labelled a PW louse by the online bookies and suffer cut/closed accounts. Why should punters picking their own selections be punitively treated because some tipster picks the same?

And no, none of my selections today are PW horses, which is always pleasing! Heart sinks when they do match however.
Report silvergreaser August 18, 2012 1:18 PM BST
I echo that big issue, in fact those 4 horses flagged up by pricewise today were all market movers at 6.30 yesterday evening, a coincidence or what?, or the most likely scenario the racing post insiders were snapping up the prices privy to information only available to the man on the street when the local corner shop opens in the morning with your copy of the racing post.

Report Big_Issue August 18, 2012 2:36 PM BST
I assume Marbelleman is just on a wind-up? If not I agree with Aviboyd, I bet he gets free tea and coffee as well :-)

See the first one just got pipped so a blow to PW backers who 'picked' the wrong side so to speak, errrr I mean their tipster did.

Silver, no suprise that 'insiders' hoover up the prices night before and no doubt lay off on here for a risk free bet at 4's or whatever the arb comes out at. They are even worse parasites than the sheep backers the following day in my opinion.

..SO 3 RUNNERS, 3 LOSERS, LAYS TO 10 POUND
BETFAIR S.P.s

3.9   RISK  29  WIN 10
16    RISK 150  WIN 10
26.7  RISK 257  WIN 10

WIN 30 QUID SUBTRACT 5% COMM = 28 POUNDS AND 50p

NOTE THAT THE LIABILITY IF THEY WON WOULD HAVE BEEN 436 POUND, TO WIN 28.50
Report stephensteve August 18, 2012 3:43 PM BST
WAIT A MINUTE.SHOULD NOTE THAT 2 HORSES WERE IN THE SAME RACE SO THE LIABILITY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN 436. MORE LIKE 179/286, SORRY MY MISTAKE

Where are you going with this, STEPHENSTEVE...?

(((((Where are you going with this, STEPHENSTEVE...?))))

It has been discussed previously that PRICEWISE horses actually make a LOSS at S.P.

A loss for the bet punter is a win for the lay punter...

...but it is not as easy as it sounds,  the liability is big,  but if we are not happy with the pricewise bets at S.P., how about the pricewise lay, at S.P. of course.??? So long as we know rhe risks...???
Report toukie August 18, 2012 9:37 PM BST
This morning you could have laid Barnet Fair at 8.0 and and Colonel Mak at 14.5 and if you did it at those prices there is a chance you could show a profit. You laid at 16 and 26.7, almost double the prices. I don't think that is going to be profitable.
Report toukie August 18, 2012 9:40 PM BST
I meant 10.0 for Barnet Fair, but still a lot lower than 16.

4 it means i have more chance of getting my bets on ,and i make my living betting on pricewise races (not neccesarily on his selections )
