the winner was drawn wide but he forced it up the outside to get a better position in the race. I agree that dobbs sat motionless as they turned into the straight, and maybe the horse was going so well that dobbs thought he had more left than he had, but he did start pushing as they came inside the last 3 furlongs and I just think the horse stayed on well without really quickening.
