trainers are clambering over themselves to book 7lbers that can ride a bit , its the sign of the times and young willie will continue to be hot property in the short term.

He is better on the flat than he is over jumps which says an awful lot! Wont be a jockey in a few years let alone a top jockey. Anyone else thinks Nigel should have just stuck with Paddy Brennan instead of letting his heart rule his head???

like i the 7lbs gets him plenty of rides and often great chances. Like i said there's going to be more and more journeyman jockeys struggling for a living if this keeps up.
7lbs has become too much in difficult times and this Willie situation proves it.


Where's the loyalty to previous riders ? is it right that some mediocre nh conditional can just get full books of rides everyday just because of this 7lbs?

Of his rides today well at 10s+ Scarborough Lily stands out to me as a decent value bet .

every ride is an educuation, an apprentice can only learn and, hopefully, improve; the armchair critics don't seem to appreciate what is required.

Jeez Bob, putting Hayley Turner in with Willie Carson and Gordon Richards Big difference is when they were apprentices there wasn't the amount of racing there is now, hence less jockeys, hence less rides for them. Now we have jockeys on the flat(majority imop) who are utter garbage yet get plenty of mounts every day.

Gave Imperial Leader two fantastic rides last season when anyone would have struggled to keep hold of the horse, then gave a 20/1 shot a peach of a ride to win the Carlisle Bell on the flat... Fantastic jockey with a proper racing brain imo. Trainer of the future if nothing else!!
