It wasn't an opinion that the two Aussie superstar sprinters finished well beaten, it was a fact. Handicapper Hawkeyethenoo ridden by an ex-jump jockey in his first season on the flat here, won 7 from 32 and so not even 25% of his races, on a losing run of 5, rated 103 and still only beaten a fast diminishing nose by a 115 horse and the other beat one home and this from supposedly the country with the best sprinters in the world. Truth is and the fact is ( despite your denying such ) BC did NOT blow very average horses away here despite all the bluff and guff being spouted beforehand

She is a wonderful mare and a credit to Aussi racing BUT to suggest she is the second coming is frankly a little silly don't you agree ?

There have been sprinters here in the past such as Lochsong / Dayjur to name but 2 that imho would have eaten here alive but that is my opinion

You mistake YOUR opinion with it being FACT and acting like a silly father suggesting his rather tubby daughter is the fastest kid in school , calm down / stop ranting and then perhaps others here might listen with a degree of openness

Black Caviar is a 5 furlong horse at somewhere like Ascot. She was burnt out over the 6f.

This explains her running to below expectations and not baloney excuses about muscle tissue tares etc. All horses suffer these when stretched to the limits.

We Brits have never hailed our sprinters as none of them ever dominate, barring a couple such as Dayjur.

The Australians seem to think that Soul franked the form at Newbury on saturday. Let me remind them he was top rated on official ratings on 115. He should theoretically have won the race. Oh yes he really franked the form of BC. Confirming her to be one and a quarter lengths better than a 120 horse perhaps.

An English form line through Star Witness and Ortensia suggests Black Caviar ran to form at Ascot. Confirming my thoughts that she struggled to stay the 6f at Ascot.
Report Angel Gabrial July 15, 2012 9:00 PM BST
6 furlongs in a bog is not what she wants really and Mayson has an action to power through the bog. So no i dont think BC would have won.

Report Angel Gabrial July 15, 2012 9:26 PM BST
She was never really tested in Australia though but her sectional times were very impressive. She only needed to do what she had to. The fact her sectional times were so good tells me she would have dominated over here at 5 furlongs for the last 2 years.
Report Angel Gabrial July 15, 2012 9:42 PM BST
There is plenty of literature on her sectionals. I have just been checking them out again. Plenty of mathematical brains have been equating the speed of Black Caviar and even on dead ground she was still recording impressive sectionals. I dont think that there is any doubting her speed over 5 furlongs..but thats her limit in world class G1 racing.
