Pathetic, results search well fooked.
If it aint broke why fix it? |

It was a very clean looking accessible site, now it looks like some 17 year old know all whizz kid has been allowed to run amok, the site is over complicated and confusing,it could change back when they realise the number of site hits has slumped

Was a brilliant site. The new 'redesign' is absolutely dreadful.
By:
They've gone down the social networking model road. Racing Post is awful now too - can't find any racing news any more.
By:
not only that but the features (race videos etc) used to work on the old site.

To add to the OP's comment.
Further to that --' Cursor Hover' When you clicked on an individual horse - and it brought a new page up, with the horse's LIFETIME race record - You only needed to 'Hover' your cursor over the DATE of the RACE - and the 'Comments In Running' for that race appeared in an OVERLAY PANEL... Now they DON'T - and you have to open the FULL Race up.![]() -------------------------- You also used to be able to Sort the LIFETIME RESULTS for a horse by - Date , or - Course, or - GOING - separately . That OPTION has DISAPPEARED. ![]() |

So, we agree it's a facking shambles then
By:

The umpteenth site that has been degraded by a so=called 'upgrade'.
Why don't these people consult with users and get feedback on various options before wasting time and money for a step backwards? The old site was excellent . The new one is total rubbish compared to it. Sometimes I despair at the stupidity all round us. |
By:
It is one of the biggest bugbears of modern life. So many people work in "IT" now and, to a person, they are inveterate meddlers and love nothing more than "improving" things that are preferctly good anyway and working well. BF used to be the worst culprits in this regard but at least they've cut back on "upgrades" for now and allow people like me to use the much better older versions.
By:
I thought i was being redirected to a bogus website, what a pile of ****, how can they call it an upgrade. Im going to stop using it now, hate the new racecards, in fack theres not one thing i like about it
By:
It is an absolute joke now (just like the operator Skybet)...
Tried to access it on my smartphone earlier and it was a disgrace.... |
By:
The old site was brilliant for racing and football. Clear easy to read type and fast access to what ever you wanted. It's going to take some time to get used to this new one if ever. The type is too light and doesn't get better when you try to enlarge it.
If they just used bold/larger font for the names of the horses and the prices it would be a massive improvement. |
By:
The site was fine, easy to navigate for what you wanted. Once again the IT bods have messed up a perfectly workable site by tinkering with it.
By:
Agree with what has been said. Loved the old layout, hate the new one.
Fk knows why they felt the need to mess with it. |
By:
was one of the best sites.no the best site on the web for racing and sports info and was my home page
when the sporting life folded it was great to think it continued a presence on the web so its really disapointing that it now looks just like the sky bet site its now slower and you cant find the info so easily. if it aint broke ffs do not fix it ![]() |
By:
like everything when its new it takes a little while to get use to it, I'm sure in a few days you'll be navigating the site just as quick as you did before the changes?.
By:
if it aint broke ffs do not fix it
This is the truest maxim in business, imo... |
By:
theres a contact link at the bottom of the SL page if enough people ask they may restore the option you have mentioned...
By:
it is usually down to someone justifying their job
By:
i do not like the revamp
By:
there's so much useless space everywhere now too. Having to navigate up and down constantly.
By:
If it ain't broke - break it !

silvergreaser 27 Jun 12 21:31 like everything when its new it takes a little while to get use to it, I'm sure in a few days you'll be navigating the site just as quick as you did before the changes?. It isn't as simple as that silvergreaser. I have used the SL racecards every day for years and using the same browser for all those years too. Now most of the "updated" (pfffft yeah right) designed pages are not displayed properly. Also there are things missing that shouldn't be, like what twomatchpoints mentions in the first post about Sire info etc when you hover your mouse-pointer over the runner. ![]() |

smar I've noticed some improvements too, all the information is still there.
By:
Betfair, Sportinglife, RBS all applied 'upgrades' that upset their valued customers. Leslie Ash was a beautiful woman before she went for the botox upgrade. There must be a lot of I.T. bods making a lot of money convincing the heads of buisnes that it's worth spending good money to ruin something that works perfectly well. The tale of the Emperor's new clothes comes to mind. Anyone with half a brain can see through the scam, but those with the power would not stoop low enough to ask their opinion.

I've been using Sportinglife as my preferred website for form and results for 6+ years. And its never changed once, with me being a man in his mid thirties that suited me perfectly! I'm not exactly a fan of change, especially when it comes to matters of a technical nature. I have to be honest my heart sank when i saw the new look website. Just like ATR's big upgrade it feels like a step back rather than forward. I guess in a week or two we will all be used to it. In the meantime its a painful experience trying to navigate your way through new pages. With the amount of cr@p racing we have these days its hard enough to squeeze in any form reading in the tiny gap between races without having to deal with this p!sh!

May i suggest going on the website and sending them a complaint through the contact us section at the bottom. I have.....

By:
Yeh I know. But that's what they rely on - peoples apathy. If you don't try, you'll never know whether a difference was made
