Pal of mine, 61 years old, doesn't own a computer, backs to decent stakes 2-3 times a week when he fancies something strongly.

Phoned and asked me which firm were best price on a horse in the 3-15. Told him Corals were 8/1

Only 3 minutes walk and the price was still there when he placed £25 on it.

Call to head office which took 3 minutes and he was offered the bet at SP.

Unbelievable.

kenny mann,

They are all the same!

"Bookmakers" - They should be done under the, Trade Descriptions Act 1968!

It's high time, that somebody came on a programme, (for example), 'The Morning Line' and expose them, for what they are!

It's f*cking scandalous!

The incessant quoting of prices that are totally unobtainable, drives us all, up the f*cking wall!

The Morning Line, and in particular Stevenson, are absolutely 100% complicit. Their agenda is ONLY to assist the bookmaking industry in commercial misrepresenation of the very worst kind...

Kenny did the horse win and what was the sp?

I got a couple of facts wrong batman50

The horse was Blue Zealot in the 5-25 Bath

The requested stake was £50 at 9/1

The horse ran 2nd sp 7/1

There were 2 nr, not sure if before or after bet was attempted to be placed.

Last wednesday phoned korals to place £100 on holland to beat germany draw no bet market at 11/10.Bet referred to trader, minute or two later a rather embarrassed telephone operative declared you can only have £30 at evens.Hence I declined there pitiful offer.Phoned Sadblokes for same bet, sent to bac came back with an offer to accept £90.Again I did not place bet as surely its just really poor customer service not to accept the full £100 bet.It does make you wonder if the people at the head of these companies know what these micky mouse traders are doing.I did finally get the bet on elsewhere, these pathetic trading decisions therefore lost there companies £100 and maybe this customer will look to place his bets elsewhere in future.

Masterpappa, I'm told that half the problem is that if these 'traders' lay someone warm a bet of any sort that goes on to win, there are consequences.

One of the aspects of the whole charade that still baffles me, is that they would genuinely prefer to p!ss off someone they don't want than get a horse/team they clearly want to lay into the book.

They want to get filled up at the price, but the money has to come from proven losers...

Good grief, if they win't lay £100 in a big tornament like this there's no hope.

dont worry, next week well have the usual. korals have laid a monster bet of 3 million on frankel, ladbrokes have laid see you think lose 500,000, ,  biggest bet of the meeting someones had 1 million treble on frankel, fame and glory and black caviar to win 4 million .

Problem is no one ever gets a bollocking for knocking a bet back, but will get a bollocking if they lay a bet they shouldn't have laid. So to stay on the safe side they don't lay the bet.

FOBT did stand for Fiddle on Betting Tax until the new tax system kicks in and they will get taxed at sourced, what a shame!

Its a shame that high street Betting firms don't focus on a better service, better prices, and better public relations including having staff that actually give a fig and know what they are doing instead of finding new ways to screw all its customers, pathetic .

asked for 500/200 this morning on a greyhound running at monmore (others going 11/8)

after waiting a few mins told i could have £25 at 6/4.

why advertise a price if you will not lay it Angry
i used to work for corals so i know its not the shop staff its the traders at stratford.

I used to work for corals and now ladbrokes (got uni to pay for :)) whats shocking is were allowed to take any bet at any price up to certain limits. But if your a known loser were allowed to take whatever we want. It's shocking, and as you said theres no limit or restriction on how much you can punt into a terminal.
