in the Birthday greetings in RP they say he is 86 years old.
i thought he died over 10 years ago.

One of the top men at his trade imo, could inform the viewer on almost all sports and in the days of live broadcasting could entertain when things went pear shaped.Had the opportunity to meet him several years ago and was struck by his humour and the ability to laugh at his renowned Colemanballs.

Trouble is...it was a phoney and was edited to make him look like a genius. He didn't really have a clue about form and relied on jockeys...if you know what I mean. The sporting club then had a ready-made bunch of mugs. Having said that...there were 11 quid tips that involved "certain " races. I remember some like they were yesterday. Now they did win. No, but according to famous Elvis/Lennon biographer Albert Goldman, David WAS another notch on the bedpost of the notorious Queenie Watts during one of her occasional attempts to make Wilfred Hyde White and Robrt Morley jealous. In truth of course neither men gave a monkeys and took off for a big Parisian racing weekend, Wilferd arriving at the track with half a dozen long-haired, long-legged lovelies he'd picked up in the Bois de Boulogne, only one of whom turned out to be female. |

Wilfred was the guest of honour at the Crazy Horse that weekend. He played drums in the band while thr girls did their strips and dances, famously setting fire to the drums at the end of one number.
Years later Jimi Hendrix set fire to his own guitar at Monterey in tribute to the great man. |
