Ther are flat meets today in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland, Germany, Italy etc...
At the home of 'the best racing in the world' there are none.
We have jumps racing just about every Sunday of the year
Please, can anyone explain the reasoning behind not having flat racing on one of the only two days of the week when the vaste majority of the population are not at work?
Why,for example,not have the Craven meet last Saturday and Sunday instead of this Weds and Thurs, and the Newbury meet yesterday and today?
Oh,I know the Grand National was on last Saturday but the residents of the South are no less likely to to attend Newmarket as a result.
It seems to me that those who make up the racing calendar must have a reason for blatantly avoiding Sundays. What is it?
