they shouldn't,at least we know next time you back a faller and it doesn't finish you can have your dough back.

he has a point - either the race is void and the backers got lucky or the race isn't and they lose.  BF appear to have taken the latter view but refunded the backers.

Ph  and Fidway - If a chase or hurdle race is abandoned because of a faller in the way you do get your money back if you backed the faller. It's a void race and ALL bets are voided

yes minardi but the difference is here the race is being re run and the horse in question has had a chance to win the race but sadly died.

minardi the point is that bf haven't voided and returned all bets

minardi but this was THE faller, nowadays fallers can't be remounted and so are out of the race, bet lost for backers.

they've kept the market live with a deduction.  Does anyone know what the high street bookies have done?

fidway, its absolutely ridiculous that you get refunded on a dead horse, its opened up a lot of new angles for punters to review what if a horse has a heart attack and dies in the stalls, the race would still run, but how would they be able to have deemed the dead horse as a runner if he was allready dead ?????

so refund all bets on all the other horses but not fox hunt because he died none of the horses finished the race madness..

if it happened as they came out of stalls and they managed to stop the race after 100yards and re ran it immediately would you think fox hunt backers should get their money back

why does one regarded as a bet and one not bookmakers rubbish
By:

When: 31 Mar 12 18:41
i agree with you on that but thats like a false start this is different surely some horses may not run again later than ran earlier ..

You don't lose your money until the race is completed. It doesn;t matter if your horse dies, if it is tailed off at the time or left in the stalls. If the race is not completed it is void and money back. The Re-run is a new race

Bet365 have voided all bets on the race but if you would have bet the winner they will pay out your bet. A free bet to nothing.

Regardless of whether the poor horse is dead - the race has been voided - BF should have voided the race - no question - some horses have now burnt themselves out some haven't people are no longer betting on the same event.

I had no bet in the race but did see the breakdown.

I am amazed BF have not voided that race - I am sure they will they are in a tricky legal situation if they don't.

Also are they now going to put a 0 against days since last run ???

I think from what I saw they run nearly a circuit of the track.

but the point is that BF haven't voided, they have kept the race going and treated the unfortunate horse as a non-runner.

The race was never abandoned or voided by the racing authorities in Dubai.
Instead they decided to re-start it,giving connections the (obvious )option of not running.
The connections of the unfortunate Fox Hunt obviously had to withdraw, and so,technically that was no different from any other horse being withdrawn.Fox Hunt was a non-runner.Usual betting rules apply.

why should have the winner started re trading at 2.40 when according to the deduction it should have been 2.88

how can a dead horse be deemed a non runner, what if the connections of fox hunt still wanted to run, would they allow this ??? i mean can they have the authority the stewards to say its not entitled to run, because as far as im aware its only the owener and trainer of a horse unless certificated by a vet can deem a horse a non runner,, this is getting ridiculous now, i mean come on, the race should never off been stopped then we would not be chatting about it now

remember the grand national that never was,, come on did bookies then still pay first past the post hehehe

A most unsavoury turn of events .... everyone being very compassionate about the dead horse .. and quite right too. People on here who by and large lose have got far more principles than BF who need to retain the full market for the commission.

For that very reason the race should have been voided and a new market opened.
