Ban (imo)

By:
Hefty ban, I would hope. I know and like the guy but it was shockingly careless.
By:
how long did he get?

No ban. According to Mick Fitz on atr the stewards were satisfied that Johnson did not cause On KHEE to come down . The winner was far enough clear to cross over and On Khee just clipped heels. . . . . . Strange but thats what Mick said so it must be true!!!!

stewards u wonder what race they are looking at...in australia he would of got 6 weeks for that...clearly came across and took the ground of oh khee.horse had nowhere to go then he cliped heels and came down.jockeys got bans yesterday for minor riding offences.tom scu and horse were lucky to walk away from that..dickie knew it too.the look of worry when he pulled up.i still cant believe the decision..tom scu must of said something in johnsons favour...
By:
Agree. Jockeys stick together like glue. Keep an eye out for Scu skipping up Dickies inner at a vital change of a race in the not too distant future.
By:
dickie owes him a few for that one.. scu had to pull up very sharp before he "clipped" heels..
joke stewards decision.. |

whether or not the stewards arrived at the correct decision we could debate all day and without all the camera angles. However , if anyone truly believes that Richard Johnson would deliberately and knowingly squeeze up another jock on to the rails there ,is misguided and naive. Dont you think Johnson has been riding for long enouhgh to realise just how dangerous that can be ? the jockey could be badly injured or worse. I dont know Johnson personally but i would be certain he is not that callous.
By:
Nobody said he was being callous . We were just saying Johnson defo owes Scu a favour for not whinging to the stewards afterwards!!!!
By:
by inference they did. the poster began by stating "johnson disgusting " and "throw the book at him ". Surely he is not suggesting "throw the book at him" if he thought it was an accident ! there have been more posts on other threads today with just as much vitriol if not more. I am sure , however , joe value, that you dont think that and yes , i would agree that an apology or as you say , a favour , is correct in this instance.

Having looked at the race, it certainly wasn't deliberate on Johnsons behalf but it should have been deemed irresponsible riding at the very least and got himself a ban.
Complete mystery that the stewards done nothing as Scu could have easily have been badly injured. Pablo believe me there are plenty of jockeys riding who wouldn't think twice about squeezing a fellow jockey up if it meant gaining an advantage, its usually done in a sneaky way, especially now with interference rules that almost encourage foul play, unless the interfered with horse is beat a short head its stands virtually no chance of been awarded the race. |
