how he rides for a stable like Mullins is unbelieavable. shocking ride. he even falls at the last to make sure he doesnt win
it is annoying when you see the front horse sailing off into the distance whilst townend is sat there with his thumb up his ar5e.
That looked well dodgy. Drifted before the off and ridden like a non buzzer!!!!!!!!
Agreed, the fall was nothing to do with the horse putting another one in before it jumped the last
horse falling at last saved his bacon would not have beaten winnerand was a poor effort, its not as if it was a 100/1 shot it was the second fav and he knew enough about the horse he was riding to know it would not close the gap and he should have rode it closer to the pace or made his effort sooner
the horse was never asked a question till the last. no excuse for not putting the horse into the race. would have won if it front run with the 2nd fav
do you think his instructions were to drop him 15 lengths off the leader throughout whilst still travelling well?
He was trying to be a smartass judging the pace as being too fast early and got caught by the balls. Thought the leader would come back and he didn't.

last 4 starts, Gagewell nowhere near the horse he was when winning couple of Grade 2 novice hurdles in Jan 2011.
He was never really travelling in debut novice chase under Ruby last time at 4/7 when beaten by ordinary type, (with modest mare just behind in 3rd), so no wonder this horse drifted today.
Winner arguably had better recent hurdle form (when fell on penultimate start), and perfectly entitled to beat Gagewell if jumped ok.
Pretty certain Steeles Rock will beat Gagewell if they meet again
