Had a small bet on it for an interest obviously not on to-day it will be worth watching as it pulled a bit but very tenderly handled don,t know if it made up ground or just ran past beaten horses will keep an eye on it.

Depending on how things eventually pan out, I suppose there's a fine line between schooling in public and giving a horse an easy time for one reason or another but still riding to achieve the best possible position.
The danger in giving them an easy ride from off the pace with the intention of trying to pick off places one by one (which they were doing earlier) is that once you make a jumping mistake from off the pace then you are always going to be on a recovery mission and that's what they did at the 5th flight where Johnson went to the buckle end.
You can half understand why they would want to take things slowly with the horse considering it's an 8YO running in only its second hurdle race and it has clearly had problems if you think that its previous hurdle race was on 9th January this year and other than that it had only ever run before in bumpers, with the most recently being on 4th April 2009.

the horse normally leads? did u not see its last race, surely theyd be going easy THEN.
get off the fence for once in your life. its always 'on the one hand blah blah but on the other hand blah blah' with u. u never actually offer an opinion, u just state the obvious!

There's a lot to be said for stating the obvious or sitting on the fence if something isn't clear cut, otherwise you risk coming down on one side and making yourself look an idiot.
How does the horse "normally" lead when in 3 of its 4 starts the post race comments were:
Held up, raced keenly, headway over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on same pace final furlong
Took keen hold and held up in rear, headway halfway, led 3f out, soon clear, easily
Held up in mid-division, steady progress on inside over 6f out, led over 1f out, ran on well
It seems today's ride had more in common with those 3 above than it did with its hurdles debut and as I "stated the obvious" it was held up and picking off runners one by one until it blundered at the 5th flight when off the pace, then was then never going to catch the 3 runners that pulled away from the rest. The horse was ridden and won on its first 2 starts in a similar fashion to today's initial ride but those were bumpers and so clearly wouldn't have had any jumping errors like I pointed out today.
What opinion do you want me to give, whether I thought it was schooling in public or not? Well to be perfectly honest I don't really know for sure but under the circumstances would be leaning towards no or should I just guess like you did?

Ima amazed is unquestionably the biggest knobend on this forum......always defending the indefensible......the last time I noticed the prikk he was saying Fallon was innocent......a grade a yoke....

LOL lookingforthewildman and there was me thinking the Old Bailey told Fallon he had no case to answer. I'm sure the BHA would be interested if you had any information to help prove otherwise though or are you just another sheep who lets the media (admit it, I bet you read The Sun and miss the News of the World) make up your mind for you because you find the task too taxing by yourself?
Just for your information though to help you out as you seem to have trouble with the English language, I didn't say Fallon was totally innocent anyway, I said he made a human error on Ballinger Ridge and it's there quite clearly to see on the videos and I also mentioned that his ride on Top Cees at Newmarket (you were probably still in Pampers then) left a lot to be desired and deserved to be looked into and which was one he got away with.
Oh and please forgive me if I don't indulge in the petty name calling but I happen to have an IQ higher than my waist size.

What I don't understand about this is the jockey gave the other horses 25 lengths start and never put it in the race with a chance of winning. Hobbs has 4 horses entered in the Supreme novices at Cheltenham and this is one of them so you would expect he rates it highly. My guess is they will keep it a novice this year, bring it out October time against moderate opposition and win a few hurdles with it. This is what they did with Wishful Thinking.

Like as mentioned previously if you sit out the back off the pace and ride a waiting race but make a jumping error just as the race starts getting going then you are always going to be playing catch up. We've all seen many jockeys ride the same race and not make a mistake and then it gets hailed as a well timed ride when the get up to win.
ATR's post race comments were:
took keen hold in rear, blundered 5th, plugged on from after 3 out, never on terms
and the Racing Post reported:
Held up behind, some progress into midfield 5th, ridden after 3 out, no further impression on clear leaders, lame
Which isn't too far different from the way the horse was ridden by two different jockeys (Johnson and Rhys Flint) when it had previously won twice but obviously things changed after the blunder at the 5th and with the horse finishing lame.......oh and some papers/websites didn't even mentioned the blunder at the 5th in their post race report and it seemed to go unnoticed.

LOL.....you only have to ask which long word you were stuck on lookingforthewildman and I would have been more than happy to help you.
By the way, you do realise how your posts make you look don't you? Oh sorry, of course you don't.....unable to put across a sensible line of argument so regress back to the playground and childish name calling.
If you want to attempt a grown up debate on the relevant subject matters then I'm more than willing to read your comments but then I think we both know I would probably lose you and find you again so you are reduced to being 12 years old again.....I maybe should be a little more harsh but I'm actually a bit embarrassed for you.

the court had the right evidence on top cees, but the judge decided Tommo could not be trusted - one of rare occasions Tommo was on ball and judge puts him down. what a scream and what a tragedy. a most sickening aspect was the performance from the media clowns at the time - they knew the facts yet sustained the illusion of objectivity to keep the bandwagon rolling and f--k the punter. can anyone find tommo's interview with Fallon to view anywhere?

There really is nothing funnier than watching a deluded idiot thinking they are superior to others and yet with every post they make, all they really succeed in proving is the complete opposite......funny and yet ironically tragic at the same time.
You haven't made one valid counter argument to anything I have said and I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with me, just as long as they are capable of putting over an alternative point of view but clearly this is beyond you and explains why you have to resort to abuse......I genuinely feel sorry for you on that score and have never really been able to get my head around instigating being abusive to somebody over the Internet that you have never met before purely because they hold a different view to you.
