Report skerries February 1, 2012 2:46 PM GMT
that should be a 14 day ban for stopping riding
Report richters February 1, 2012 2:47 PM GMT
absolutely fkn scandalous....
Report Studious_1 February 1, 2012 2:48 PM GMT
What's the name of commentator in Ireland g2d working @ Down Royal today please.

I should know but I don't, figured you probably would!
Report carrot1960 February 1, 2012 2:49 PM GMT
puts the race to bed with a good ride then lets his horse jump the last and coast before realising hes got company but its too late too many mistakes for a jockey of his calibre lately
Report simon9 February 1, 2012 2:50 PM GMT
if every jock just rode out 100 percent we would save all this ****
Report misslimerick85 February 1, 2012 2:51 PM GMT
richard pugh on comms

Total disgrace, was just about to turn my luck today, and then that.
Report minardi February 1, 2012 2:54 PM GMT
it's a tough day and i didn't need that
Report guinness2dear February 1, 2012 2:55 PM GMT
Sorry Andy, was feeding the hound.

Misslimerick is correct. Richard Pugh.
Report dgc1 February 1, 2012 2:55 PM GMT
terrible ride but the horse's form line tells you he's a non-trier
Report skerries February 1, 2012 2:58 PM GMT
jockey error the horse would have won easy if he was rode out to the line, trying to be too clever to protect the handicap mark
Report Studious_1 February 1, 2012 2:59 PM GMT
Thanks miss limerick - wanted to put a name to the voice so to speak!

Don't get to hear him all that often but he's the best from the UK & Irish mob, always v.very impressed every time I hear him.
Report They think it's all over.... February 1, 2012 2:59 PM GMT
Backed 3rd fav in the race which fell, but thats shocking to say the least,ul to all who backed it.
Report Studious_1 February 1, 2012 3:01 PM GMT
Cheers g2d...hope the hound is well fed. Cheltenham was quality the other day btw - bit up and down on the punting side of things but that's Prestbury for you - the Festival should be a treat once again this year.
Report dgc1 February 1, 2012 3:03 PM GMT
what do you think the racing post description will say? how much are we bet there's no mention of "failed to ride out"?
Report guinness2dear February 1, 2012 3:05 PM GMT
The ugly bugger is better fed than me.

Always is Andy, still get goose pimples every time i set foot in the place, if i see you in March, a pint of the nearly black stuff will find it's way to you..
Report misslimerick85 February 1, 2012 3:05 PM GMT
hes ok sort of labelled as ptp comm over here
Report Studious_1 February 1, 2012 3:15 PM GMT
Cheers g2d...hope to pass on a few winners @ the time if you do.  Long Run wins bar a fall in the GC - I know the jokey on board is a liability but he's overpriced right now in a big way in my view.

MissLim - That's surprising, I think he's way better than a ptp comm, not heard him on the flat though? but his NH calling is superb - if I was on Facebook I'd start a fan club Laugh
Report misslimerick85 February 1, 2012 3:35 PM GMT
think a 5 furlong sprint wud be over before he had the field mentioned may need a few keep e uppy pills for that lark!
Report richters February 1, 2012 3:38 PM GMT
maybe davy make amends here?????
Report sickoflayinwinners February 1, 2012 3:50 PM GMT
my god!! russell stops riding for a moment going into the last to get his horse right to jump it and anyone would think hed stopped riding miles ouit and hadnt seen the winner coming , walofs.just unlucky it  didnt find much on the run in. i think h did very little wrong  to be honest.
Report snorlax February 1, 2012 5:37 PM GMT
Anyone ever been to Down Royal? If you had you wouldn't be as quick to slate the jockey on a horse with a questionable attitude getting caught on the run in!It is one tough finish!
Report kirschingaround February 1, 2012 5:46 PM GMT
Soooooo errrrrr him taking it up and easing up on the run in on course with a tough finish is OK then???? Why did he get after him so far out, if he rides the course regularly I would be asking myself???
Report snorlax February 1, 2012 6:01 PM GMT
I'd safely say he got after him so far out so as to open a big lead as he knew if it came down to a battle up that steep hill his boy wouldn't have the bottle for it!I backed the horse and was coursing Russell at the time butnow that i've settled the head i think he didn't do too much wrong!
Report kirschingaround February 1, 2012 6:13 PM GMT
Never change your mind!!! It was a dreadful ride... imho...
Report longchamps February 1, 2012 6:17 PM GMT
