What's the name of commentator in Ireland g2d working @ Down Royal today please.

I should know but I don't, figured you probably would!

puts the race to bed with a good ride then lets his horse jump the last and coast before realising hes got company but its too late too many mistakes for a jockey of his calibre lately

terrible ride but the horse's form line tells you he's a non-trier

jockey error the horse would have won easy if he was rode out to the line, trying to be too clever to protect the handicap mark

Thanks miss limerick - wanted to put a name to the voice so to speak!

Don't get to hear him all that often but he's the best from the UK & Irish mob, always v.very impressed every time I hear him.

Cheers g2d...hope the hound is well fed. Cheltenham was quality the other day btw - bit up and down on the punting side of things but that's Prestbury for you - the Festival should be a treat once again this year.

what do you think the racing post description will say? how much are we bet there's no mention of "failed to ride out"?

The ugly bugger is better fed than me.

Always is Andy, still get goose pimples every time i set foot in the place, if i see you in March, a pint of the nearly black stuff will find it's way to you..

hes ok sort of labelled as ptp comm over here

Cheers g2d...hope to pass on a few winners @ the time if you do.  Long Run wins bar a fall in the GC - I know the jokey on board is a liability but he's overpriced right now in a big way in my view.

MissLim - That's surprising, I think he's way better than a ptp comm, not heard him on the flat though? but his NH calling is superb - if I was on Facebook I'd start a fan club Laugh

my god!! russell stops riding for a moment going into the last to get his horse right to jump it and anyone would think hed stopped riding miles ouit and hadnt seen the winner coming , walofs.just unlucky it  didnt find much on the run in. i think h did very little wrong  to be honest.

Anyone ever been to Down Royal? If you had you wouldn't be as quick to slate the jockey on a horse with a questionable attitude getting caught on the run in!It is one tough finish!

When: 01 Feb 12 17:46
Soooooo errrrrr him taking it up and easing up on the run in on course with a tough finish is OK then???? Why did he get after him so far out, if he rides the course regularly I would be asking myself???
By:
snorlax
When: 01 Feb 12 18:01
I'd safely say he got after him so far out so as to open a big lead as he knew if it came down to a battle up that steep hill his boy wouldn't have the bottle for it!I backed the horse and was coursing Russell at the time butnow that i've settled the head i think he didn't do too much wrong!
