when i asked about 1 year ago they said they can't give a spreadsheet for IR bets only . has this changed or do you only bet in running gerard ?

You can do this yourself using the sort function on excel. I would recommend doing it aswell. Bellewstown was a scene of carnage for me. I don't bet there any more.

rcing, it was an overall P+L but the vast majority of my stuff is IR.

In reply to Delta it depends what you mean by best and worst - in terms of pure profit or profit in relation to turnover?

As Gerard says it can't be split, but all of my bets are IR bets anyway. To do this I think you would have to start your own spreadsheet or records from scratch.

I worked a profit per race figure rather than profit/turnover.

By pure profit, two courses that are amongst my least favourites to play! Newcastle (a result skewed by one big win) and Lingfield. The latter in spite of the rancid dog racing, ATR/BF video pictures and legions of track playing competitors. Just the sheer volume of racing there I guess. Courses with the best winnings to volume ratio were, unsurprisingly for a stay at home player, the high quality RUK tracks - Cheltenham, Newbury etc. The worst track % wise, despite it being RUK was Thirsk - answers on a postcard.....

I found Redcar very hard going, probably due to the camera angle. All my best tracks were Irish - Kilbeggan, Clonmel, Down Royal. I had bet in around 500 Kempton all weather races and made £2. I had made a decent amount at Lingfield aswell but the  profit per race figure was very low.

Most tracks depend on your betting style though. If you can get on the frontrunner at Thirsk then it is hard to lose from that point.

Indeed Rollo - can't wait for the new flat season to unload a few full banks on some Thirsk claimers.

I only found out recently that you can request a course by course breakdown of your P+L. Mine turned up yesterday and I would thoroughly recommend anyone serious about their IR betting getting theirs done. A lot of the results were as  expected, but there were some real eye openers too. Fascinating stuff imo.

ive had one every year, it certainly gives your head a good shake up thats for certain.

Ayr was my worst by a mile, newbury and cheltenham the best.

Ayr is poor for me too Roo - one of those tracks I think I understand but clearly don't!

I did a suitcaseful in one day laying a maniac front runner gerard.

It ran there 10 days later, same tactics and same ground and got beat a furlong and a half.

lol roo,good luck to everyone but i have finally raised the white flag in my own small way,it used to be a great way to fill the winter afternoons in and until 3 years ago took it quite seriously in the winter and it paid a few bills.
when atr extra was going it was great fun but i'm way behind now and can't even get a few back to lays or vice versa right and even though playing in relative pennies it's no good for me.
great way to bet though and only regret is not taking it more seriously 8/9 years ago when it really was a piece of p1ss.

got mine yesterday over 2 years

worst - newcastle, windsor and brighton. ( always disliked the last 2 there so will definitely ease up or even completely dismiss from now on)

best - (really surprising to me ) chepstow , hereford , worcester and towcester

do surprisingly well at the irish tracks also

You are best editing the data yourself with excel if you can, to split the jumps and flat at dual purpose tracks. If the betfair data isn't sorted that way of course? That does take a bit of time but worth it aswell.

ribero, having taken a break from racing from 1999-2006, it's  always a nightmare for me to hear how it was like shelling peas on here in the early days Done ok last few years but very little easy money left outside of the fast-pic boys....good luck

lol duncan,i was laid up for a while late 03 early 04 and it was then that i got into it on a very casual basis and used to type the bets in and still comfortably come out on top.
people with very little knowledge used to tell me they went to exchange shops and it was like shelling peas,i doubted it then but looking back i can well believe it.in those days a form studier was probably in a small minority who knew the strong and weak finishers but now it's a proffesion for a considerable number and by doing it every day they all have this information.
and as an on course bookie i see them all streaming in at places like uttoxeter and you realise what you are up against.if the fast sis at home came in i might be tempted to give it a whirl for a year but i'm out of it for now,will have to start watching old films on winter afternoons! lol.

perhaps its the GOING as much as the TRACKS that determines how much you win/lose inrunning.....im gonna ask for a going breakdown

a gaff i thought i was winning a few quid at i was 42k behind at ffs!!

I'll defo be shocked if i'm 42k down anywhere (dont play on that level)...i'll also be shocked if i'm not down plenty at Thurles (painful memories)

ribero, watching old films on a winters afternoon is my girlfriend's idea of heaven! watched Rebecca and The Philadelphia Story again over Xmas....top notch. Fibre-optic SIS could make things interesting as you say but i wont hold my breath

I've been racking my brains trying to think what might have caused it and must admit I was very keen on Party Boss a couple of times there.
There was another one about an older horse I think beginning with C might have been a sprinter. I'm thinking 40/1....

Its remarkable when you sift thru it all over a long period of time, i recommend anybody to do it tbh.

Sheer number of races there Rollo? That is why worked out a profit per race at each track.

What a waste of time - I've lost money at Lingfield

13 of my 14 least profitable tracks are on ATR
