Anybody looking to get paid on Voler La Vedette would steal money. Something was obviously wrong.  Get real, people.

anyone else reckon Calvin's made a play on us....only did the interview to gauge public perception and prepare something better because they have absolutely nothing concrete to tell us.

When you witness the level of performance their main PR guy gave on ATR earlier is it any wonder they have to stoop to getting the company shills to sign up to the forum claiming  punters were trying to steal!!!! Mischief

Calvin said: "We immediately launched an investigation into what happened and it transpired a technology fault allowed a customer to exceed their exposure limit, so in accordance with our terms and conditions we voided the market.

"For the first time in my tenure the system failed, but there was a unique set of events that allowed this to happen, which is highly embarrassing and an unacceptable betting experience for people.

So Calvin and Betfair know precisely what happened and the "set of events" that transpired......

"The reason this has happened will come to light and we will post a full explanation when we have the information. It will be highly technical but we will publish it in full when we have that information."

"when we have the information"? So they don't know what happened yet and are unable to enlighten anyone.

Do they know or don't they know?

In the court of law the backers done nothing wrong. The money was there for them to take. They didn't have time to work out it comes to 600 million an impossible amount to have. So you can't call them thieves. Lets hope it doesn't go to court and Betfair do the sensible thing and give the punters an ex-gratia payment

I was not replying to you, only to anaglogs remark that betfair still had not posted the announcement they promised for 6.30.

I take great exception to your 'tea leaf' remark.  I did not have a bet on the race.

All they had to say Yesterday "We royally fecked up bigtime obviously it was one of our bots gone haywire"."In reality the horse was never 28/1 in-running but as a sign of good will we will give punters a free bet of(and they can work out what their usual stake is) it would cost them a million or so. The markets would have stayed steady. People would be saying betfair didn't have to do that see they are a generous company and bobs your uncle and many millions saved and it would be all fish and chips paper tomorrow.. but this carry on...It makes Gearld Ratner look as tho he was praising Ratners jewellery
