Mr Crisp - I know exactly what you mean. I've had numerous mortgages over the years and paid upwards of 14% at one point. Now that I'm mortgage free and have cash, the interest rates a non-existent! It's a conspiracy I tell ya!
salmon - do you think that the impact of the recession has really been felt yet? My feeling is that it's starting to bite but that there's a lot worse to come and for some considerable time. In such times isn't it normal that people turn to alcohol and gambling? I don't even have that as an option - I'm already there! |

And it will really hit hard when the winter fuel bills come in feb/march. Plus the CC bills in january, with the average being 15%?? These gas/electric companies never seem to put there prices up after the winter freeze. |
