16K on Dancing Freddy, 6.5K on Chunky Diamond both of whom finished 2nd to horses ridden by jockeys who broke the guidelines. I suspect both of them would have won with no whip. Not that this is anything new. I was regularly robbed by jockeys willing to thrash the life out of gambled horses.

The Ponte race, if memory serves, Dancing Freddy received 4 encouragements from the jockey's aid, but the fast-finishing 3rd wasn't touched with the whip.

If you had your way, feck, and whips weren't allowed, Bonnie Charlie would have won, imo.

Top post George.
The word whip is now banned it is the jockey's aid and it is used to guide and encourage the horse. Mandatory requirement for Health and Safety.
Report Feck N. Eejit • October 24, 2011 1:47 PM BST
I was also on the 3rd George.
Report GEORGE.B • October 24, 2011 1:53 PM BST
Any horses in the field you weren't on, save the winner?
Report Feck N. Eejit • October 24, 2011 1:55 PM BST
Very droll George.
Report Feck N. Eejit • October 24, 2011 1:55 PM BST
BTW, I was also on the 4th.

Make that three times (True To Form).
Report GEORGE.B • October 24, 2011 3:26 PM BST
Feck, I'm not having that - Fallon reckons his whistle is more effective than any air-cushioned jockey's encourager.
Report Roger De Bris • October 24, 2011 3:26 PM BST
throwing 5 granders at this sport the way the rules are.....
Report Arklearkle • October 24, 2011 3:34 PM BST
Feck now you perhaps appreciate why most of us are saying these rules are stupid and if it continues racing will become a joke.
Report bilbobaggins • October 24, 2011 3:41 PM BST
If there was no whip Feck , yours probably wouldn't have even been placed. I was on True to Form and Fallon stuck to the rules and lost but he would have won with one more crack. HE is now hampered from doing his job.

At least if they adopted my idea of adding 0.25 lengths per illegal whip to the horse's distance beaten WRT THE PRIZE MONEY RESULT I'd at least have the satisfaction of knowing the offenders didn't get their prize money.

Now I really do know that you are 'off your rocker'.

We have had Computer races, before, Feck.

Remember - Daily Express Computer Grand National etc.

Now they are called Virtual Racing - because they have pictures.

You can bet on those, too.

Feck, sorry to go off subject, but feel free to comment on my Celtic thread at your leisure.
Report GEORGE.B • October 24, 2011 3:53 PM BST
Mathers could overturn his ban on appeal, imo - all he has to do is argue that Fallon's high-pitched whistle distracted him and caused him to lose count.
Report Arklearkle • October 24, 2011 3:54 PM BST
Feck some might agree with your proposal which I presume was tongue in cheek but it does goes to show where racing is heading. It is the beginning of the end. I can see horse racing eventually taking the place of the old circusses which travelled around the countryside.
Report Feck N. Eejit • October 24, 2011 4:02 PM BST
Onlooker, I did say WRT PRIZE MONEY. I wasn't suggesting it applied to the betting result. I would suggest you're the one that's off your rocker if you don't think that would be a deterrent to all bar gambles.
Report onlooker • October 24, 2011 4:31 PM BST
So a team scores 2 goals, each by fouling an opponent - say, pushing them out of the way
But the goals are given - and that team  subsequently  wins 2-0

Those who have bet that team to win, and correct the score, get their betting winnings.

However - The Sports Official Body - reviewing the event, after it has finished - take those 2 goals away from them ...

and the team end up getting ONE point - instead of 3.

Similar principle.

are you sure?  I thought a jockey's aid was a box like the one Willie Carson stands on?
Report flyingbolt • October 24, 2011 4:38 PM BST
Such a shame that Feck is unable to back a winner now because the only jockeys that don't beat the hell out of their horses are the little fellas who ride the ones he backs.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Report Feck N. Eejit • October 24, 2011 4:40 PM BST
I'm doing just fine bolty.

Onlooker, same principle my @rse unless you're saying 50,000 Patrick Mathers fans would be upset?
Report onlooker • October 24, 2011 5:12 PM BST
What on earth is that illogical retort meant to mean?
Report Feck N. Eejit • October 24, 2011 5:34 PM BST
What's illogical about it. The amended result would affect only the jockey, the owner and the trainer and the jockey did break the rules so why shouldn't they suffer if it affected the result? Changing a football result after the game would affect so many people it could bring about a riot. Besides, let's say a team wins 1-0 through an offside goal in the 1st minute. Are you saying if that goal had been disallowed you could say the result would have been 0-0 with anything like the confidence you'd be able to say True To Form would have won?

You've got some brass kneck calling me off my rocker and illogical.

Make that 4 with another 4K (200 on Caymen Fox at 20.0). Only one in reply I've had is 2K for that winner that resulted in the first ban under these rules.
