The 3 line whip is a joke. Even if they all vote for it there won't be a referendum. They're
far too scared, because they know what the people want.

Never been a fan of hanging - or indeed any death penalty - far more punishment to award life sentences where life really does mean life. No TV in your cell, no gyms and computer rooms. No voting. Jail serves three purposes
1) It protects the public from criminals
2) It punishes those who have broken the laws of the land
and most importantly of all...
3) It should act as a deterrent to those who are thinking of breaking the law
