...if there is a hint they are striking in order to whip more ot keep the status quo then they will lose any support from the wider public very quickly......
..and i suspect there will be those that say "who cares what the wider public think"......well hasnt that been the point of this excercise all along....
and even the jockey and trainers were ...at the outset....saying something had to change......
as i have said all along...an easy solution....
TOTAL WHIP BAN.......
....no penalties required...no bans required...level playing field.........
Something else jockeys need to be careful about: saying the public only cares one day of the year.
Newspaper editors might wonder why they give racing so much space, if their readers only care one day in April.

They barely get a page on most days now Ramruna, bar saturdays, so i wouldnt say the Editors give it much space at all now.
Probably due to the ridiculous amount of meetings

a long term jockeys strike could be interesting. I'd imagine with no races to run in some horses will have to be dealt with quickly and effieciently as a cost saving.
:( grim
now that would be a real public disaster for the BHA....should never have got into bed with the animal rights lot. they destroyed national hunt racing in australia and they'll do it here too.

Didnt I hear Simon Holt say that Aintree sales were up 27%, the wider general public could not care less about the whip. It was not a welfare issue and Darley and the BHA should all resign.
