Erm, didn't some of you guys say "if they're travellers, why don't they travel?"
You got the name of the place wroing, btw, but perhaps that was deliberate?
Now that you've brought the subject up - even though it's in the wrong place, this being the HORSERACING forum - , I'd like to point out that all those folk parked on the private road ( they're mostly media etc) may have to move out of the way if all the "400" travellers need to use it. As most sensible folk can clearly see, the figures have been grossly exaggerated by the council. It is just as farcical as their claim that this is "greenbelt" land! There's at least 5 metres of hardcore over most of the site - much of it having come from the local councils. This was before they changed the laws, btw. When the land was bought, we were encouraged to do so, and, just like Len, we understood that we too could get the correct planning sorted out. Of course, since then, the conservative and unionist party/bnp/uvf axis have changed their tune. They want to grab as much land and build as many houses in Essex as they can. The decent folk from nice places such as Billericay have been suckered into thinking this was some sort of planning issue involving a mythical greenbelt. They'll need to keep a close eye on this puppet council who dance to some very powerful vested interests.
Just like when the country was taken to war over claims about "Weapons of Mass Destruction", there's nothing more dangerous than weak prime ministers ( Blair, Cameron,) who try to act tough, just because they know they cannot sort out the economy.
This thread shouldn't be on here, but if you're interested in discussing the issues rationally, come down to the molly.
