Fallon has said he finds a full book of rides at HQ very demanding, physically, because of the distance you have to travel to and fro for each race. So, i assume the rides he could have had in the other races were not the best, and instead of just taking them he has opted to conserve his strength for the evening.
Or not He's a law unto himself

Fallon’s expertise on Britain’s diverse tracks is widely acknowledged and he has lost none of his guile. He was masterly in winning a race for Godolphin at Epsom last Sunday, guiding his mount away from the rail to avoid the adverse camber in the home straight. But he is banking on the tight Wolverhampton polytrack course to assist him most in his challenge.
“My winning percentage is very good at Wolverhampton. I’m seldom out of the first three there. I get good rides and it is an easy track physically. It’s not far to the start, you ride in the race, and you go back and weigh in. It’s easy.
“But take a course as big as the Rowley Mile at Newmarket. You use up a tremendous amount of energy just getting a horse to go steady to the start. The easiest part is the race itself. If, say, you had a full book of rides at the Cesarewitch meeting, you would be covering 20 miles during the day, down to the start and galloping back. It is physically demanding.”.

It's physically a lot more demanding for Fallon because he's usually one of the first to start pushing and one of the last to go for the whip. He's also giving about 15 years away in age to his two main rivals now too.

It's time to give up when you can't do it 100% anymore, the same thing happened with me and my paper round back in the day, time waits for no man unfortunately

You can only change gear on your bike seven times during the round now and there's no xmas bonus if you only push the paper half way through and it gets wet

Make your mind up ima, making excuses/reasoning in your first post and contradicting (ish) in your next.Tbh I thought you were talking about BMs paper round until you threw the horse in.[;)]

I'm suggesting it's more physically demanding for Fallon due to his riding style of pushing from a long way out and going for his whip as a last resort as compared to other jockeys and so it was physically demanding for him 20 years ago too.........both my posts are consistent.

Fallon's a lot fitter than your average 46 year old bloke though and again he showed that by pushing home that Hannon winner for 7 of the 8 furlongs.
1991 it was though for Cruz, Cecil and Charles St George before Dettori won on it in its next race when moved to David Loder.
