if i was to bet on a horse online after the race had finished but the betting site were still taking bets on that finished race, would i be due the winnings even though i new who had won before i staked the bet.

if i was a bookie and i took a bet on a non-runner after it was withdrawn but the punters were still betting on it could i keep the stake even though i new the horse wasn't running before i took the bet.
